People need to back off. Sausage was trying to help everyone and now your trying to make him like a bad guy. He has helped the endless online private servers grow. If it wasnt for him you could of been harmed by this backdoor.

I believe the word is turning XD. Nothing is wrong with him. It's just his side. As everyone has their own. Such is life. I guess there really is no need to argue lol, this is just a game :P

Sounds like a fair argument against warning anyone, but also a fair argument for telling everyone how to do it (and also a fair argument to letting the ignorant get what they deserve in the case of vulnerable websites ;P).

Makes no sense. Why would Hollow have coded this command for his server if your name has to be Elevations? I mean, clearly this was added by Ele at a later time. The bullshit explanation only convinces me more that this was a purposeful backdoor to be used by him. (And really, what a derp of a backdoor.. At least Sordie's backdoor was something you couldn't have guessed.)

But yeah, I laughed at the quick reaction. And their reputation is fucked now. I'd rather stick with where it all started anyway.

I like how you expect to get a serious answer from asking that question on these forums? If you wish to know why hollow added the code ask hollow yourself not a bunch of retard trolls who are just saying w.e the hell they want.

Yus, and just like you, I basically let them and just ignore them. I gave up a long time ago trying to micro-manage everyone. When dealing with people you have to make some compromises and allowances.

I believe ele said on the eosource forum that it was not only his name that could use the command but also hollows. Perhaps it was used for recovering passwords or a security mechanism.

Accidental backdoor? Few days ago Kyle(Bone) was approached by Elevations to use "EOSource" as a replacement to the BU code stating that he(Elevations) had turned over a new leaf. A few sources that don't care to rat him out said that he(Elevations) was planning to destroy BU. Is this mere coincidence that a backdoor was found in EOSource?

For well over two years now, Elevations has been shitting on his players by hi-jacking messenger accounts, spamming other servers with packet bullshit to crash them (remember that deleted character bug you were crashing EE with about 3 weeks ago before I caught what you were doing while you were doing it?), and now this? You can form your own opinion but everything I know about him is never-ending bullshit. If you are on a test server testing your own code, you could easily administrate your character via database. There is no fucking reason for a user lever account if "elevations" or if "hollow" should be given access to view login and password. What debug purpose? Console window shows the accounts and characters as they are created. Hell if you want to know if it is the same account then add a show account command, but why the password too? Tell me one fucking good reason that a user level character doesn't need to have admin status to see this information. You can play it off as "i forgot" or as "debugging purpose" but come on, do you really think anyone in this community is that stupid? He cried about Sausage getting in the FE website via the DJ panel... said Sausage hacked his way into FE... said Natalia gave him DJ account info that allowed him in... FORGOT TO SAY HE JACKED HER(Natalia) HOTMAIL AND WAS SPAMMING FE AD'S WITH IT SO SHE WAS PROBABLY PISSED TOO. Ok to screw the people that play your server but not ok for the people that play your server to screw you? How's that work? 

I don't care what server you play, what software you use, what website is your favorite, or who you hang out with, I just don't like to see people get shit on. The kinda shit Elevations has done over the years has probably deterred a lot of potential players away from all private servers due to the simple fact that people that aren't computer savy get scared easily. He is the one ruining the private server experience pulling stunts like this, not the person who coded what potentially could have been all that remains of EO. I expect a tantrum and a list of lies and bullshit in response to this, but honestly don't waste your time on me because frankly you are caught red-handed again. Tired of people making you out to be the bad guy? Then quit trying so fucking hard to get login shit in hopes that some server like BU will use it and you can log in as whatever admin and troll around doing whatever the fuck you please until your method was discovered. Damn, find a hobby and do something else. Same shit gets old. And stop telling everyone I hacked FE. I don't give a fuck about FE, you, what you actually coded, or the fact you even stole your mom's hotmail account and use it as your own. Get over it an move on bro, this shit ain't cool.

So really what you and Sausage are trying to say is you dont care what server software we use or server we play as long as it has nothing to do with elevations?

I don't for the life of me understand why anyone trusts anything that Elevations is involved in. There's an old idiom, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" that applies here. It's apparent that this guy is corrupt with power and will use any avenue he can to exercise it by exploiting his own loyal following. If anyone questions his authority or threatens his position, he doesn't hesitate to open fire on those that are calling him out for what he or his team are involved in.

Sausage and the entire EOSERV team are so transparent you could mistake them for a plate glass window. Their behaviour is at times radical and their attitudes could use a little work, but you always know exactly what you are getting. There are no surprises. How many times have backdoors and exploits been discovered in vanilla EOSERV installations?

I'd trust this team with any code they write, I have in the past, I will in the future. They've never let me down.

Even if Elevations' explanation holds some truth and the command should have been removed in a much older release, the fact of the matter is that it was not removed and this shows some negligence on their part. Their player and users credentials have now been compromised once again due to failure to check their source code. This has happened multiple times now and it's not acceptable in the slightest. It's their actions and carelessness that has tarnished their reputation, Sausage is only doing the public a favour by bringing it to their attention.

Of course, at the end of the day it's not only Elevations involved here either. The same could now easily apply to anyone involved in the EOSource development and support, among others.

To the users, I suggest you heed the warnings given and exercise good judgement when deciding who you should hand over your sensitive information to. Hold the ones that falsify and harvest your information accountable for their actions and do not support them or their affiliates.

Developers need to exercise vigilance as the playing field is becoming increasingly uneven, so protect yourself and your code, share it to trusted clients only and any free-to-distribute code should be covered by a strict set of terms and conditions, be it a common license (GPL, Creative Commons, etc) or a carefully drafted binding agreement.

I suspect we will see this dispute heat up further before it cools off.

EOSERV is no longer my forte, however I am involved in the community behind it and the people being directly affected or called into question here are people I associate with on a daily basis. I won't stand for it.
