Homemade Cooling Pad
So I'm about 60 percent done with making my own homemade laptop cooling pad, using 2 tower fans I took apart powering them by a 12v charger that I had, I'm thinking on trying to make them battery operated so I can make a portable pad, but here's the thing I'm unsure on what to make the pad out
of.. for the statinary one I was thinking of just using wood an mounting them. But for a portable one, I was thinking fiber glass or plastic.. or some kind of light wieght tubing any ideas on the materials to use for a portable pad?? ---

Re: Homemade Cooling Pad
I just raised mine up by putting bottlecaps under the feet, this gives an extra 13mm of clearance and improves airflow. That and blowing it out every 4 months or so keeps it running cool. My Toshiba laptop has been on 24/7 since about March with only one overheating incident, which was solved
after blowing things out again.

Re: Homemade Cooling Pad
If you want to make it portable make it usb powered. That would be the best way to do it. Definitely not the easiest way but it would be cool (lol puns) if you could figure it out. ---

Problem is with the usb, it doesn't send out enough power to power both the fans to the max, so I was thinking about using 9v batteries...I was planning on taking apart a toy i had an using the battery mount for it. ---
