To me it is like the times when I was a young kid in elementary school and couldn't buy lunch but still had to sit in the cafeteria while everyone else had theirs.

Christmas as a child was always exciting. The houses laced with lights and decorations, carols each year in the weeks before, the presents on christmas morning and the gathering of family in the afternoon. Now, none of it remains. We no longer have lit houses. No more carols. Christmas morning is but a distant memory as i'm well past my childhood and the family members that remain rarely see each other anymore.

Instead, my christmas parties consist of work friends and random acquaintances i've met over the years. The lights are draped from the buildings and trees of the city, rather than the houses. As for presents, well, when you get to the age where the things you want are nothing more than a swipe of a card away, christmas almost comes on a daily basis if you're smart about it.

On Christmas Day, i'm sure i'll be out and about. At the end of the day though, it'll be back here that I call home come nightfall on December 25th.

I've never found anything special about xmas.. I found out santa wasn't real when I was 4 an just never found xmas as joyful.. Walked out on the family putting up my sisters doll house asked gramma the next day about santa an she told me lol.. 

I love the holiday spirit though, everyones always happy... an the lights are beautiful.

Well, whenever Christmas rolls down, I get the warm fuzzy feeling. I enjoy watching all the old Christmas movies and shows. I really like "A Christmas Story" though. Plus, everyone has that "Holiday cheer," and the houses and tree's are put up and shine from the lights. It's truly a beautiful sight.

I remember being excited and my brother and I were both almost convinced that we could see "Santa and his reindeer" flying through the sky when I was about 4. Soon changed, because at about 6 I went downstairs before midnight xmas eve to get some water and found my dad playing with my oh so anticipated "Stretch Armstrong toy", only to be scolded and then beaten for being up too late. I really only wanted a glass of water, and I never got the toy. I kind of figured out right away that wasn't right and my older bro told me everything. Ever since then I've realized that Xmas is just a big excuse for people to get competitive over who can buy the most expensive "something" and practice/glorify a story that generations nowadays' don't even know/half know.

For me it's just about having a good time, and another holiday to get shit off my mind. Lol. Just how the holidays were made in the old ages, called 'Holy Days' but they have been altered now since society is changing, and much more less religious. They were made to keep people sane in my opinion. Everybody needs a break, to me that's what Christmas is.

I was always skeptical that he was real. The idea of a jolly fat bastard travelling around the earth, making stops to deliver toys to 3.7 billion children? I never was a traditional child. I always questioned the logic in these stories. The point at which it became blatantly obvious though was when I caught "santa" unloading the presents from the back of his Mazda 929.

About a thousand dollars in surgical bills for my cat that have to be paid up by the end of January. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I know what you mean, I didn't find out Santa was real until I found out the truth about the tooth fairy XD. Ah how my parents tried to lie their way out of that one too, haha. :o and about your cat, a thousand dollars! If I was in your position, I would find some sort of ''accident'' lol.

Unfortunately christmas is normally difficult for us. In following up to my previous post, I regret to have to conclude this thread with the news that on Christmas Eve 2011, Meggs, my beloved cat of 14 years has passed away after a battle with cancer. R.I.P Meggs.
