No, just quitters. You don't need to change or apologize for how you deal with societies stigmas.

You're like a constant downer huh?

But no seriously, if he chooses to go to rehab, how is he a quitter? He can do what he wants with his life, and if he feels that this is the right thing to do, then he should do it. Just because it might not be right for one person doesn't mean it isn't right for another. Everyone is different.

I'm just saying i know what its like. If its a social stigma that people shouldn't drink alcohol all the time why is it legal? It's not his life and it's not his choice, society inflicts its morals on him and tells him the only way out is to go to rehab. Going someplace and being told not to do something you enjoy doing is not going to help. You need real motivational change. I know of someone that is a heavy drinker and didn't go to rehab just took Antabuse and they've been sober for over a year now. Here's its information: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000726/ It makes the person sick if they drink booze. That's pretty much all they do at rehab. Talk about how your an alcoholic, how you should change, accept god, 12 step program, group discussions, resolve your "inner turmoil" that causes you to drink and set you up with a prescription for Antabuse.

Very mature man, you recognized you had a problem and you're taking steps to fix it. Your attitude is more than respectable.

Speaking from experience from someone who is a heavy drinker, detox sucks its not worth the intense pain you get from it. Here's an article about it and its actually pretty true: http://www.cracked.com/article_18824_5-things-nobody-tells-you-about-quitting-drinking.html  Yes i know its a cracked article but still its pretty true.

If no one cares then why are you expressing superficial emotions in an attempt to present yourself in an otherwise gaudy manner? I am actually posting my experiences with it and information relevant to the topic, you are not. Your posting about whether people care or not, not information on the actual topic itself.
