I know it would take a lot of work and I doubt I will ever see it implemented anywhere, but an idea I've always wanted was a change of the game-screen, removing the half-screen inventory/chat system/spells and so on and making it a full screen game with perhaps small iconsunderneaththeExitgamesign when you hover over them come up with what they are like Inventory, Skill list instead of spells as I think learning a spell can be considered a skill can't it.

The chat system can have an icon perhaps on the left hand side which you you can minimize therefor maximizing the actual game functions. It would be nice to actually see EO as a game rather than what I've always considered it to more be like, a chat room/game.

Cosmetic wear to weapons and armors would be good, the weaker items for instance start off on a lower overall health 40/40, up to the best item in game starts off on 90/90, you could have a quest of some sorts to upgrade the overall wear limit up to 10 extra points. when the item's under15points, it loses half of it's stats, under 5 it loses a futher half and then when it reaches 0 it's useless, no stats and can't be fixed. If you have armor/weapons with 1 or more wear points, for example, 39/65, you can take it to a blacksmith and get it repaired for a fee, depending on howgoodthe armor/weapon is and how damaged it is. Maybe an option also to have everything on you repaired, for a hefty fee, a lot repair perhaps.

I dislike the idea of EO only having one drop at maximum, so I was thinking about perhaps if someone made a small chest gfx, and renamed said chest box as 'Loot box' when you open it, it opens like a chest, and inside it it stores multiple drops, so for example from the npc Silver wolf, thelootbox opens up and contains, 2 Silver wolf fang, 150 Gold, 1 Wolf claw, and this could be great for generating items on a well structured craft focused game or something similar.

Something else I liked would be perhaps a booster cards for items, for example when you kill for example a silver wolf, it drops the item 'Silver wolf card' and I know this also may be a very tricky one to imply, as it'd need a big change, but each card is attachable to a certain part ofgear,for example, Silver wolf card is attachable on the weapon slot, as oppose to Black bear card which is attachable to the armor slot, so each weapon/armor and if you want to go crazy, you can implement it for gloves/boots and hats too, each one can hold 1 slot, but if you take it to ablacksmith'salong with certain rare ingredients, he can make a second slot in it. so Silver wolf card is a fairly decent booster card adding 20HP, 3-3 damage, 3 def, 3 eva that's going by main EO's stats, whereas Dragon card is very strong, adding 25hp, 5-7 damage, 5 def, 5 eva, 5 con. the npc'sthat havebooster cards can only drop their own cards, none others,  but if you think about adding the loot box system, even though the best booster cards would be a rare drop, having multiple drops would make up for that.

They're some of the ideas I'd love to see implemented in a EO, without a new client I know most of those probably aren't possible (but I won't say definately as I don't know for sure)


You are talking about a complete client rebuild. Sordie is asking for ideas that do not mean needed a modified client.

And you've been playing to much FlyFF XD

those are all great idea's and would make a definite improvement to game play however this requires a coder skilled enough and dedicated enough to use things like OpenGL such as Desmond mentioned earlier in the thread.a fresh coded client one with open source which could be altered as each game developer see's fit.

Desmond, I understand these ideas would need a complete rebuild, which is a shame, like I stated, I doubt I'll ever see any of these ideas implemented, but it would be nice to think of it happening some day as they are possible to implement with the right team and dedication.

On a side note, I've never played Flyff, and that's honest, the card idea was actually from a game I played a few months back called Luvinia, which was an idea I did take from somewhere else, but hey, looks like all games rip each other off now-a-days anyway so I guess there's no harm in adding a system, albeit from another game,  into an EO based game which hasn't been done before on any other EO based game before right?

Yea games always do copy but then you tell me a game that has not been copied in one way from another :P

If someone started an open source client then it can be done :P

yeh no idea, who made that 3 effects in one <.<, anyway it would be cool do have a better arena system, and for example you can drop event items to block players or when they walk over one, the die, - health.

If i could code and make stuff i would do something like this:

Transform System:

For Example, You create a item like mystery box from Black ops and you can click it every 10-20mins and it randomly gives you a item, The item it gives you is like a potion that transforms you into a NPC and gives you stats mutations or you get a useless item.

For Example:

Flying NPC you gain loads of EVADE and 2x SPEED for 30 Secs.

Big Armored NPC you gain very high def but speed decreases 30% for 30 secs

Assasin NPC you gain 1 hit kills but your HP drops to 1 and immune to magic spells for 30 Secs

Invisible (Like +hide) you gain invisibility for 50 Secs

Beast NPC you gain very high attack but def is decreased 50% for 30 secs

Immune you become immune to all attacks for 30 secs

And so people can't save up different mutations when you use the mystery box it detects that you have a potion already and the box doesn't give you anything. It would take alot of pixeling to make the NPC's but imo would make a fantastic server add-on.

Locker combinations: So that when you click a locker(safe) a box pops up and you have to put a 6 digit number to open your safe. Sounds good but everyone would be hacked.

I know this would have to be a client rebuild type thing, but I think eo would be 10x funner with a voice chat feature, like on certain maps your in a different "chat room".

Well It's not much, but I would really really like to see a server with an effective storyline with many side-quests and such that would be updated with new ones often. I haven't been on many servers at all, but I do notice in most of them, there really isn't a storyline taken into account. I think that it would interest players much more and it could transform how the game is played. But that's just another one of my lame ideas.. D;

See I dislike teamspeak or vent, I'd like to see some thing more like SL chat system. 

And I understand it would increase bandwidth but I think it would a interesting feature into a client.. but I know its just wishing. 



Also I'd like to see a server with a stable pet system that implements "taming" of pets not just drops.

last addition for me that would be cool, is like NPC players. you can control them like pets, or make them like npc's or use them in PK's. you can dress them, and they work for you etc.

Yes!! that is awesome, I have started working on a very basic implementation of this, abuse of the player walk,attack,and speech packets is as far as Ive gotten, but your idea inspired me to start working on my servers again and not my side projects, thanks clive. + 1

that kind of idea has been played around with through kalandra if I remember rightly xD With the ability to clone your character, giving your "clone" an Identical image and the ability to rename your clone and re-clothe it I think? It was a pretty cool idea and you could get your clone to follow you, so maybe Sordie would we able to help with how she planned the concept behind the code. She'll know more about it than anyone else I guess :P
