Hey guys, I've just updated to 1.0 and tested it out on Hardcore. How far have you guys gotten?

It's literally as it suggests, In hard core mode you don't respawn. The mobs are all set to hard difficulty so there's a real sense of urgency to build your shelter for the night :) EDIT: I'm just about to update to 1.0 so I'll post my score shortly

For those that want to update, Backup your bin directory else you wont be able to play online as there is no 1.0.0 servers yet :P

If you've already updated don't worry. Just reply here and I'll upload the Bin directory since I had a copy on Ubuntu and its the same files on Windows. Tested as I play offline on 1.0.0 and online using 1.8.1 :D

As stated above by someone else Hardcore mode forces you to delete your world if you die. Therefore you have to be careful. I am in the middle of recording a series just on me playing the Hardcore mode. The series will end when I die :D

Nice, Your serie will stop in 5minutes or it might continue for weeks =P. Such things are pretty exciting xD

I've never played Minecraft before but I'm sure considering it. =]

I purchased it months ago while it was still in beta release. We haven't had much on as of lately, but with the final release I think that could change a little. Myself and a number of the EOHax members used to play multiplayer survival on it, proved to be a blast (quite literally, Addy kept making explosive doorbells for everyone's house).

There are 1.0 servers. I just played one, and I got a 53 score on single player :( somehow the skeleton killed me when I had full health. It might've been an update, I havent played since 1.8.1.

Creepers seem to be stupid and skelly's you need to run away from. They will kill you :P They take about 3 hearts in one hit but have about the same defence so you can kill them but you must be really careful.

I haven't been on Addy's server for awhile but will start again when he updates to 1.0 and has summet's like towny installed :D I like that mod as it also helps prevent greifers.

Btw, What server did you play that's 1.0? Bukkit hasn't updated but should have since they said they was going to whilst at vegas since they had a booth there. I've taken my server off until the update and just messing about on Single Player.

It was probably the default server software :P

I've stopped playing singleplayer when 1.8 was out because of new structures like strongholds, mineshafts and villages not being generated in older chunks. I didn't want to make a new world because of all the stuff I had on my old world like 2 mob grinders (wasted 2 diamond and ~30 iron pickaxes on these), automated farms, 35 diamonds and other cool shit. I think I'll create a new world now and start playing SSP again, but I won't start a hardcore world.

I bought Minecraft on Alpha 1.3. :)

I got Minecraft in 1.8 Beta and cost me £13.95 now it's £16.95. My neighbour brought it when it was in Alpha for about £5 XD.

Anyhoot, Yea... I've looked around and found that only the official minecraft server is available. However, This is not what I like playing. I like playing servers with Towny, iConomy, ChestShop ect.
