"Opinion" is the worst fucking concept in the history of the english language.

I'm going to go ahead and say the servers are shit with a single hard fact behind it - nobody has even the slightest clue how to run one of these things. 

Fallen Evolution and Elevations can tell me time and time again that they're a successful game entirely spearheaded by Elevations Productions, which last I checked was not a registered business nor has it ever turned a consistent profit from its primary business model, turning to hundreds ofin-your-face advertisements and donations to raise the pittance required to keep that train wreck on the rails. Get the fuck over it, even if FE was completely recoded from scratch, client and server, with rewritten maps and redesigned graphics at this stage, their reputation will always tie themto Endless Online and it will always tie them to EOSERV.

The entire thing is a perfect example of how you shouldn't run your startup business.

Endless Edge is a fine server in the sense that it works consistently and seems to be managed relatively well. It doesn't try to be innovative or radical, but the economy is sound, the game plays like the original without the flaws and it hasn't fluctuated in pace over time. However, I can'tcall this game successful either because it's only ever been a "for fun" clone of the original Endless Online game. Perhaps that's what they were aiming for and are perfectly content with that title.

The fact of the matter is some servers will be better than others compared to other Endless Online private servers. However compared to the entire game industry in general, these are boring as bat shit. There's any other magnitude of games out there and games soonto be released that will continue to erode at our already thin market share. As a matter of fact, i'll go as far as to say that we will never attract any large number of new players to our platform due to the advantages of our competition, and the players that we do currently have on our serversare the remaining few leftovers of players that are already familiar with Endless Online.

As such, we're running on borrowed time. Every last one of us.

I won't accept "great new features" as incentive either. I don't give a shit if a server supposedly has fishing, it's still pressing the fucking control key over and over. Nor will I accept "a great community" as incentive to play a server. I have played quite a few servers, undercover when Iwas on staff here to assess the quality of each, and I have yet to run into any server that has a great, let alone a stable, community. It's nothing like other games where players can get to know each other and have fun in competition - usually you just end up sitting around talking shit outsideAeven town square.

So i'm going to say it now, to the EOSERV community, that I am sick and tired of server and player disputes, period. 

To the server owners, you have a lot of work to do and a lot of mess to clean up pushing forward, who stole what graphics and who said what should be your very lowest priority. All of the graphics are stolen per se, it's a server emulator, a clone of Endless Online and as much asyou want to tell us it isn't, it simply is, if not in how it looks, look at how it works, how the characters move, the way you interact and attack. All of it matches. Don't bite the hand that feeds you either, the players are your livelihood, the more you drive them away the less popular yourserver will become. Show some customer service when dealing with them and exert polite authority in dealing with the difficult ones.

Also, quit calling DDoS whenever anything remotely difficult happens. Slight spike in the server load? Server running slowly? Down for maintenance? Gee, that must be a DDoS. No. Fuck off. Also, quit blaming everyone else for a problem. The number of times i've seen players come running back tothis forum going "X admin said I was attacking them but I haven't done anything" is astonishing. Get your facts straight and build up some hard evidence before accusing anyone of anything. 

At the moment the only community and authority i'm seeing on private servers is akin to the former Soviet Union.

Yet I somehow doubt that is going to change.

Finally, looking back over my post, I believe legally that does check out. I've stated my case from an outside perspective, this is how I see it and most importantly why I see it that way. The very last lesson is claiming you are going to take legal action against someone forspeaking out, or taking your graphics or anything of that sort is an empty threat. None of this would hold up in a court of law and you would be doing nothing other than wasting the judge's time. Not to mention the extortionate court fees when it inevitably backfires.

It is an old story, one i'm sure plenty of people are sick of hearing. The only difference between now and previous cases in which i've told it is that i'm no longer afraid of ruffling a few feathers in the private servers and even within the EOSERV community.

I see the humour in declaring your project successful when all it appeals to is a minority group, and one that is losing interest rapidly. It's difficult to articulate my thoughts at this time of the morning, but what it comes back to is that the private servers and even the server emulatoritself showed a lot of promise, but through poor practises and mismanagement they're destined to peak much earlier than they otherwise would have. I think we're beginning to see that now (even here, post counts are up, post quality is in a decline).

Flazex, what's your point? I played BU. I played EE. Calm down there. Don't hurt yourself there. You basically said everything I said in my statement. EO isn't a bad game overall. Like I said before, the community is cool, but there is lack of game management in EO.

Lack of game management? Eo has NO game management at the moment. And what's my point? Well, what you said was an opinion statement. Different people have different views.

I know im kind of late but if I remember correctly BU has a forum section does it not ?
