Really, if you want a good server, make your own rev, else, If you want a VERY NOOBIE server, download EOSource. ---

Re: EOSource, or EOSERV?
I would rather use EOSource than EOSERV. Iv'e seen so many people post "all EOSource is, is hacked in features." As far as I know, this revision, has way more features, and some neater features, then any other rev I've used. It has been very stable for me (for the most part), and
almosteverything thing has worked correctly, and when something hasn't it has been fixed right away. Yes it's closed source, and yes there are a couple other downsides to his revision, but I haven't seen anyone else make a rev this stable with this many neat features. At least it's always updated,
andhe's actually thinking of new ideas. Anyways just thought Id share my thoughts on it.
Edit: Doug- Hollows revision is "noobie"? Id like to see you make a revision better than hollows..

i just said "if you want a newbie server, download eosource, but, i'm joining a rev. will be 100000000% better than EOSource. Seose is better than eosource lol, everything is better than eosource.

Re: EOSource, or EOSERV?
doug if your rev is going to be better will it even be released and what will be on it i mean eosource has everything a noobie wants the ease a noobie wants or even a person who doesnt have time to learn to code and does it really matter if its for noobs or if theres hacky features in it still
better than most

Re: EOSource, or EOSERV?
I prefer EOSERV. EOSource is just another, most likely unstable custom rev with a bunch of hacky functions, that could be easily added to EOSERV. Also it isn't open source. Hollow may've put something inside it. I don't really trust closed source revs coming from someone who was a friend of
elefag.

Re: EOSource, or EOSERV?
first of all for those of us who have poor or non-existent coding skills there's only EOsource and Vodka to choose from. I have been running vodka because it is so stable, but am going to switch to EOsource in the near future. The feature set isn't exactly what I want but it comes close
it has a lot of stuff I probably wont use though (I cant see the need for so many types of resource gathering for one thing)
the upside is that Hollow seems to be making a genuine effort to continually improve it and releases regularly, unlike Apollo who keeps promising a new release (with expanded EO+) and not delivering

Re: EOSource, or EOSERV?
who could know if send unhashed password for some email or page and then put hashed on database? no one know, isn't open source. you can't see if got something
malicious on the server, nothing. you will only open it and play. Server could crash ur computer, format ur hard disk, the coder don't cares, everything can happen.

Re: EOSource, or EOSERV?
I think that EOSource has a lot of the cool features you get with EOSERV except it's made a lot more user friendly. So it may be 'hacked in' as I saw previously posted. But by hacking them in, it's made it a lot more user friendly for the EOSERV community that may not be so good at programming
but still want or need the features that EOSERV has to offer. In my opinion it's basically an EOSERV/Seose cross over. It's nice. Personally I wouldn't use it, however for someone who is new to programming, I'm sure it'll be very useful indeed :) Good Job Hollow. But more importantly, good job
sausage for providing the platform in which the community have taken and built upon for the entertainment / education (programming wise) of others. ---

Re: EOSource, or EOSERV?
Without EOSERV = Without EOSource...
(EOSERV == OPEN_SOURCE) > Open Source, pretty good, you can know everything about the server
(EOSOURCE == CLOSED_SOURCE) > Closed source, did u know what is behind that super cool features?
