Well, I just think if you guys wanted to have a little debate that would be fun!

Okay first off, here is the debate question: Do you believe in democracy?

My opinion: I believe in democracy. In many places you have to vote for things, such as: presidents/goveners, laws, etc. although the government has to balance out votes by making laws.

Now, I want to hear your opinions. It doesn't matter if you think you are right or wrong. I just want to hear people thoughts! So anyway go ahead!

I believe the idea of democracy is good, but everything is corrupted over time. Thats all I really have to say about it... 

But I also think Communism is a good "idea" but it could neverwork because of the human race an greed. We are a horrible species,its the same reason democracy is corrupted.

I don't believe in democracy

1) Were expected choose a person to represent the people but what if the none of the representives represent the people the way we want them to.

2) The goverment can be easily corrupted because of greed.

3) We are expected as citizens on a daily basis to follow stupid laws that are not needed in this world for some laws I will agree they are needed but as for the rest they are pathetic.

4) I perfer monarchy because monarchy knows that the people have more power if the monarchy were to make a mistake then all the people would leave the monarchy's socity and the monarchy will die.

5) Monarchy don't ever become corrupted so easily.

Monarchy rule!

Don't worry. I am kinda agree with you with one diference. Because i am part of that country and i know things from inside, the problem starts from democracy it self. I hope we had democrasy. Capitalism is the system that run that world now. Its all about money. And greek people didnt stealanything. Corrupted politicians put the country and EU to that situation. They promish works for people, they gave them works that people didnt deserve. They rise their salaries so people will vote for them again. I mean, who dont want a salary rise? If they giving you, you take it, you dont askwhere these money come from. And none really know the answer except of those who manage the country's money AND bills. Our politicians seems that manage the country very well for their own benefits only. But now the truth started to revealed and people that used to have a lot of money and spent alot of money now dont feal right. Who would anyway? Believe me... my country (and i feal same to say that) that teached to the world what democracy means, after so many years of democrasy, convert the constitution into an anarchy. Now we try to put the anarchy in order. Is that easy for us? No. Is that easy for rest of EU? no either. I only hope that have a good end and i hope we become once again a country that deserve to be a part of EU. Btw about that you said for 45+ whiney people you are totally right. That is the generation that pull the trigger to that country by not respecting thelaws, by using corrupted methods to earn power and money against my country and EU. About 50% of young people thinking living the country to find a better life with no corruption. Do you think greek people like that situation? So to answer to that topic too i say to you.... No democracy is dead.Long time now. Capitalism run that world.

I, on the other hand do believe in democracy.  But only in this case.. if it based on the vote of the people, and the government does not have too much control it should be kind of equal, all based on the sovereignty of the people. mhm, but lemme make clear why they ''steal'', those depts greece is making, and we know they aint gonna pay all back is coming from our banks and tax money, we have to pay more for insurance, health care and morgages... all those things have raised price with atleast 15% in 2 months instead ofthe usual 1-3% every year... our wealth which is the Euro loses it''s value cause of this bullcrap, same with italy spain and all those other corruptive countries... we pay for the euro''s safetynet and greece, spain italy and balkan countries are taking it away cause their way of earning iscrap... you have tourism, get negative publicity and ur whole economy falls.. you get what i mean, last year if you live in greece you could retire at an age of 45 no matter how long you worked, we have been at 65+ for over half a decade now and you must have worked atleast 20 years... basiclymeans, greeks could live taxfree once they hit 45.. heck they didn''t even pay taxes... cause they never had learned how to...

and our prime minister who is a piece of asslicker just tells the eurotop yea we will raise the ammount of money for greece, witghout even asking the dam people who vote for them... all for the great euro/piece of crap valuta...

As i said, i dont disagree with you. Even now we are talking, people still try to find a way NOT to pay. And i am double mad than you are because i got a little business and i always paying my taxes, i always follow the laws, i dont try to steal my employess and i hate watch people dont pay theirtaxes just because they are friends with a guy on tax services. Because that is happening untill now. Doctors and lawers declare fake incomes, so they dont pay taxes. Taxi drivers fake incomes too, school teacher overpaid, even farmers use fake informations to take bigger retire payments. And guesswho pay for these... I know you will answer you do. Well i do too. Thats why you are mad and thats why i agree with you. And you will tell me that these people fault. Obviously but why? Because they let them act like that. Our politicians our corrupted, our police is corrupted and only a small partof that country try to act legaly. And is the same part who pay for that.
Thats why german didnt want to leave mark currency, thats why GB didnt leave pound. Euro was a clever trick from rich people to raise their hand over the money. And beleive me. There are so many countries(people, companies etc) that wish euro to fall. Who needs a super euro currency, strong andunited? Even if we all do our best there are people who will make things more difficult for us. Because they bet on our disaster. Thats why democracy dont work, cant work and will never work as soon there are greedy people.

Yes Day has a point. We pay taxes enough, so we don't want them raised. Plus seeing how America is in a huge debt crisis.
