ok so i try formatting my laptop but it keeps saying bootmgr missing i have the bootmgr file now were do i place it

You should have had the boot manager installed when installing the OS. If you are using windows then try placing the disc in the drive and use the system repair.

thats problem ppl always tell me there shuld of bin a cd with the laptop but one didnt come with it i been on this forever and havent been able to fix

try finding an update for your BIOS or try finding your BIOS online, it will say like, if you have a laptop connect your charger, and it will auto restart..

but you need your exact provider, so like search up your laptop online, so i went to the official website and looked at my laptop and it said download drivers, and it had something about BIOS, so i downloaded that, it may say connect your charger, it takes about 5 minutes max and your computer auto shuts down..

Go into your bios and change the startup item to wherever you installed your OS. It's probably trying to start from a) external drive, b) cd/dvd, c) slave drive, or d) floppy.

Try insulting someone who doesn't know what they are talking about. Missing a file? Lol. He said "ok so i try formatting my laptop but it keeps saying bootmgr missing i have the bootmgr file now were do i place it", just because it says "bootmgr missing" does not mean he is missing any files.Itriple boot, OSX, Windows, and Linux, and i have 4 drives in my PC, if i choose drive four it will try to boot but bring up the "Bootmgr Missing, trying again..." error. This is because the drive does not contain a bootmgr as its only a time machine drive, likewise if i try to boot frommyremovable drive it will display the same error, and this is NOT because I'm missing any files, it is simply because I am booting from a drive that does not contain, nor should it contain, a boot manager script. Take one computer problem and think of 20 different things that could be causing it,ifyou can not than you don't have any place to call me ignorant. The definition of ignorance is lacking knowledge, which in this case, I am not.

TL;DR - Fuck off.

Edit: One more thing for you, you said "boot manager is DOS/BIOS NOT THE OPERATING SYSTEM", eh, no. The boot manager is not BIOS, it is located on the hard disk and is either manually installed or installed by the OS itself; And DOS is the original backend or daemon base of what is called windows, moron.

Lol, why don't you google it and reply once im back, and DOS and BIOS isnt in windows, you need DOS and a BIOS before you even have a OS
