I honestly would debate that there is no given signs.  They either do or they don't and fact is, younger people (-18) do not in fact want a commitment.  They might say they do but in reality, no.

I'd say it all really comes down to the age and maturity of a person, also personality (some people just like being alone, or being a general whore).  Could go on about it all night but in my experience this pretty much sums it up nicely.

lolwut?

I'm 17 been committed since i started dating, at 13. Longest relationship is 2 and a half years, and only changed because she herself turned into a whore, and isn't due to me not wanting a commitment, which i do.

And?  You're still very young.  I'm 9 years older and my longest relationship was 7 years if you wanna go that route.  I was speaking from my experience also, but anyways.

I think I've had too many beers to even have a discussion about this so i'm really not sure why I even posted or came back to eoserv....Hmph *poof*

I was stating that this "younger people (-18) do not in fact want a commitment.", is completely incorrect and ignorant to say.

idk, probably if they just want to make out with you and have sex and not ask you out on dates. Then they probably won't be planning on a long term relationship. Idfk if it's been said, I won't look through all the comments,

Long term relationships mean u can get cheated on.

I just went threw something horrible with my ex and I don't want to talk about  it.

Their are whores and their are decent people

whores want to fuck.

Decent people will wait for you.

Depends on which one ur partner is.

That is not all that true. Just because a guy/girl wants to fuck doesn't mean that they will cheat. It could just mean that they have a problem OR they really love that person. Heck it could also just mean that someone got addicted to porn and they dont want to cheat so they want their boyfriend/girlfriend to fulfill that need. Now if you got cheated on, then that simply means that person was not for you. It doesn't mean all girls/guys are like that. It all depends on where they live, their type of friends, what they watch, what their exs were like, and how they were raised.

On Topic: If you dont want a long term commentment then say it at the start of a relationship, and if your not sure SAY IT ANYWAYS. Simple as that. Now if you want to break up with someone, slowly give that person space. Talk to them less, dont tell them "I love you" and just slowly break away. If you somehow find yourself in a relationship and your unsure if you want it long term, try to find a way to tell your partner. Say that you love them but right now you wish things to slow down a bit. That way you do not lose that person and that person knows what is going on.

Also to the guy that said people under 18 do not want a long term relationship, that is half true. You are speaking for yourself and the majority of the people out there, you cannot say all. Heck I know a few people that started dating young (around 13) and now are still happily married at 40+. It all depends on how you are raised and what type of person you are/what type of person your partner is.

I agree as well. Just cause your younger than 18doesnt mean you dont want a long term relationship. I would love to have one, and so would alot of guys at my school. Also, Ive known alot of people at my school that have been dating for 2 or 3 years. Going on for more.
