Where In The World Would You Live?
Every week that I can be screwed posting, i'll post up a discussion topic for the Lounge to argue over. Something different from the usual "take a photo of yourself trying to lick your elbow" threads and the like. (I'll bet within an hour, that will be an actual topic) Today, i'm going to
post two.
Where do you live now, where would you like to live, and why?
Each time I try to save cash I haven't succeeded. This time around it actually finally looks like i'll pull it off, telling myself that maybe one day if I try hard enough i'll be able to move myself out of Adelaide, Australia at least for a couple of weeks. I'd love to see some of the places
around the world, notably the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant near Pripyat, Ukraine... but there's no chance in hell i'd want to live there.
If I had to choose one of two places in the world i'd love to live, it would either be Boston, Massachusetts (ignoring the fact I had to double check how to spell the state name) or New York City, New York.
Ever since I was a child I always wanted to experience a city that had magnitudes more to offer than Adelaide, and after a family trip to Boston and New York in Late 2009/Early 2010 I was convinced that it was the kind of place i'd want to be in. The people were nicer, there was more to do, more
to see and the opportunities were far and beyond what i'd ever experience here.

I've lived in Texas City, Texas all my life and would love to live somewhere in Colorado. I hate the heat and love the cold, and I also hear there is alot of
mountains and other gorgeous sites up there. ---

I live in the Western part of Washington State. I really love it here, it's beautiful year-round, never too hot, never too cold. There are multitudes of natural wildlife, wilderness, parks, islands in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, as well as the Pacific right out our back-door. You really cannever
not find something to do here (yay for double negatives.)
However, I would love to visit anywhere in Australia, Slovakia, and the Phillipines. This summer I'm going on a trip with one of my best friends to the Phillipines, so I'm looking forward to that. I'd like to see more of the world in general, as well. Anything's cool :P
But when it comes down to it, I plan on living here in Washington my whole life.

Currently I live in Ocean Shores WA, its in Western Washington.
I've lived a bunch of places in the states so my ideal place to move to would be out of state either in the UK or AUS, but I'm doubting that will happen for some time.
This is what Ocean Shores looks like ;D

I was born and raised in New York City, NY. Those sixteen years of my life were great. There is always something interesting to do, regardless what the time is. After all, it is the "city that never sleeps". Although, it may be stressful living in NYC if
noiseirritatesyou.
I'm currently living in Romania, trying to leave as soon as possible. Here is the deal.. Romania is a beautiful country to visit, not to live. It is almost like living 100 years in the past. The majority of Romanians farm for a living and sell their fruits/vegetables at fairs. We alsohavegypsies
here, who steal for a living. I do not feel safe here. It's hell walking the streets of Romania while horny men are honking and literally yelling at you.
Man:"Psss psss. C'mere kitty"
Me: "Go away"
Man: "Bitch @%*$"
I'm now applying to universities in the UK and New York. I'll be happy in any of those places as soon as I speak my native language in public again. I can't wait!! XD
@Tooty First of all, what the hell are you on about? Second of all, wouldn't you be surrounded by shit at a "poop deck''? -_-

NYC would be a nice contrast to Adelaide, which is too quiet, too little to do, too little to see. I can't stand perfect silence anyway, so you could give me an apartment not far from Times Square and i'd still probably sleep better at night than I did here.
Also, you just turned me off of the idea of ever visiting Romania. Thanks for saving me the trip. :P

It certainly seems like a good place to live, because even if you don't take shit, you have the added benefit of being able to deal it extremely well in these forum threads. Kudos.
That said, i'm guessing your shoes would get very dirty, very quickly. May want to take that into consideration.

Re: Where In The World Would You Live?
I am from Greece, i born there, I live there, and i would like to be there in future, althought it would be nice if i could travel a few places like spain and china.
Why? Because living in Greece is like being a part of mythology and its history. You see ruins that are 3000-4000 years old, you walk on same roads, you can sit under the shadow of an 500 years old tree. You can swim on a great sea, you can travel to little islands, some are very famous in the
world. We dont have racism, we are a quiet place with mad drivers and a lot of drinks(haha), we got hot weather almost 8 months the year with a great sun. We got great foods based on Mediterranean diet, the
healthier.
For all these reasons i want to stay here, and you are all most welcome to visit us.

Re: Where In The World Would You Live?
I'm surprised at all the other people that live in Western Washington! I'm from Bellevue, WA and I work in Seattle. I didn't mind it here (the weather is decent in spite of the rain) until I started commuting. It is hell and I can't think of anything I hate more during the day. Plus the
publicschool system's views are totally based on forcing you to take as many APs as possible to make them look better. Its awful, and I know a number of people who had to choose between taking retard classes or AP classes. No middle level. Suffice to say as much as I love our house since
weremodeled parts of it, I wouldn't want to live here in the future. The cool part though is all the software companies around here. Valve and Bungie are about 15 minutes from my house, and the Microsoft campus is about 20-25 away. Plus in elementary school I was in the same classes as the kids of
the people who own Nordstroms, and the kid of the guy who was coaching the Huskie's at the time.
I was born in Massachusetts, about an hour south of Boston in the small town of Attleboro. We moved out to the west coast so I could know my grandparents before they passed away (which was worth it, I'm glad to have known them and miss them dearly). If I could live anywhere in the world I
wouldprobably start by moving back to the east coast. I love the distinct seasons, rain all year kinda sucks. Also love the humidity. I really can't see myself living on another continent, only tourist-ing there or something.
If I were going to live internationally I'd start in Norway, Scotland, or Iceland. I'm both Norwegian and Scottish, and I've always been in love with the Icelandic scenery I see. I think I'd stay in the US mostly though because of family.
Here's Bellevue (thanks, wikipedia). Most of those buildings are finished now. At one point I think we had most(?) of the cranes that existed in Washington state in our fine city. The most I counted while driving was 15 :P
