What would you be working on?

Five years ago I was the manager of a community site, much like this one. I didn't manage it very well and the community folded in 2006. Since then i've worked on a number of on and off smaller projects but never put much effort into any of them. My involvement with EOHax and EOSERV was my primary focus for those years. Now I want to start something brand new and the current members of my soon to be management team and I are currently deliberating as to what it should be.

Then I came up with the idea of this topic.

What would your primary focus be if EOSERV and Endless Online didn't exist? Would you have started a website/business in a completely different field? Would you have looked for another game to work on? Maybe you wouldn't have done anything at all and life would have been better off.

Because that's exactly what I need to do. There's no chance in hell of the project becoming EOSERV related. Finding an alternative though is even harder.

That's an interesting question, and something I've never really thought about before. I think not much would have changed for me except I never would have learned PHP, hosted my own web server, or frankly even done anything past HTML/CSS in web development.

I doubt I'd have progressed very far in C# because I wouldn't have had any good project ideas. My shop/drop/home/spell file readers were a great way for me to develop my skill in that language.

C++ I would probably be about the same in. Same with Java. Never would have experienced that joy of being able to spawn every great item into my inventory immediately (:D) either.

Probably wouldn't have even played EO again since 2009. The whole reason I started was because I got fed up with main's bullshit and spammers saying "JOIN THIS SERVER LOL" and the terrible economy. Just baaaaad.

If EOserv didn't exist, I almost certainly wouldn't have been around the EO community this long, and almost certainly wouldn't have progressed in pixelling nearly as much.

Most likely, I would have spent far more nights sleeping rather than pixelling or chatting on the internet, and would have been able to focus on school easier.

I don't know any coding languages, so not much would have changed there, but I definitely wouldn't have met half the people I know on here.

Pretty sure I'm still a TQ Journalist for Conquer Online, I haven't had much contact with the Gms lately but I think that would be something I would like to continue then.

If EOSERV Didn't exist i would have probably gave up on Endless Online a long time ago.

Would've probably never considered learning C# or Vb.Net.

And i wouldn't have made such awesome friends online :D

I simply cannot imagine a universe where I didn't create EOSERV. It would have to be entirely predicated on me never finding EO at 13 years old, which would probably completely change the course of my life. I've met so many people who have molded me in to who I am today, so I don't think Sausage as we know him would exist at all without EOSERV and EO. If I imagine what it's like I only imagine a stranger with my face.

If EOSERV hadn't existed, I would never have considered taking computing at college, I would say. The whole idea of playing a game when I was 11 that kept me so entertained for a long time, to 4 years later working with software that my younger years could work around. Which is probably why I like this community so much, without trying to sound so cliche, It pretty much is a part of my childhood and I like to hold onto that :P further more I wouldn't have learnt any of PHP or C++ if EOSERV didn't get my attention to these things I probably wouldn't have given them the light of day :') and as for finding a new project, I think it'd be awesome to try and create your own MMORPG so that you can have that great sense of achievement when you get a good community up and running knowing that you did it all yourself :') that's what I plan to do one day if I ever get that good at the whole programming thing :P

If eoserv never existed, i prolly never would of gotten the hang of creating a program and understanding certain computer files and errors, running a server taught me alot about this.

If EOserv didn't exist I would have quit main again, and probably never looked back after it went down. Which means I would have never learned how to pixel (better at this than any other kind of art), or met a lot of awesome people. =P

I dont have any idea... i wouldnt be on the computer close to as much as i am, and i wouldnt be pixeling at all.

If Eoserv Didnt Exist.... i would never met some great people, which helping me a lot. I would never try to pixel my self, or make a map or a quest. I was always part on forums but i think that one turn my imagination on. EOserv gave me the idea to start learning 3D modeling which is a great tool. I wouln't know not even a single line of code (i still dont know a lot but at least i started learning basic HTML commands and made a very simple site.

If it didn't exist, then i'd play EO till it went down. Once it went down i'd probably quit because I knew nothing about the internet until I found EOSERV. Then I would have no experiences with computer's then never go on one again :D
