| ![]() An old laptop charger i had broke over time and eventually it was just the two groups of metal wires sticking out, everytime i wanted to charge my laptop i would need to connect the wires to a certain part of the peice that goes in the laptop. Sparks would fly out all the time xD, it took about 15 mins to acually start charging. Now i have a new charger after about 5 months xD.

| ![]() I got a Toshiba laptop in fall of 08. Eventually it had this problem where every time it started up, it would eventually overheat and turn itself off. It still ran until that point, however, it could not run on AC power without shutting itself down. I first tried swapping out the hard drive, but that only solved a completely unrelated issue (weird clicking o.o) At this point I took it to a Toshiba repair place. They replaced the fan, gave it back to me, same problem. I took it back, and they replaced the whole motherboard: problem solved. For a while. The same laptop started giving me the same problem a couple months later, and when I got the motherboard replaced the other time, it was at the end of its warranty. I dealt with it for a while until I could get a desktop. Unrelated to Toshiba's terrible motherboards, I decided to take that computer apart and see if I could get to the fan and find out why it was continually overheating. I actually managed to fix the problem - but forgot to reconnect the touchpad. So I opened it back up, fixed the touchpad, ...and totally broke the laptop for good. Nearly impossible to fix, the LCD panel itself has to be replaced. tooty123 posted: (23rd Aug 2011, 06:04 pm) I've hair dried my computer before. Does get a few odd stares. Had to use it to generate enough heat to break the tape behind my LCD panel glass, funnily enough, so I could get my LCD panel out because it had vertical lines through it. How's that for odds?

| ![]() I've broken a $2000 HP laptop before. I don't recall what happened to it or how it broke. I have a laptop that has its Windows key missing. It's not too much of a problem as I don't really need to use the key often. --- 

| ![]() I dropped my mouse earlier this month and it landed on my safe. Now every time I click it double/triple/quadruple clicks. Its gotten to the point where I'm about to go insane, but the good thing is I only have 5 more days in till I can buy me a new one. (This one has lasted me 3 years, sohopefully I can get lucky again.) I will probably just go with this since it is the cheapest. |
