| ![]() Has anyone else gotten to try this out yet? I'm seriously impressed so far. Google Music has got to be the best streaming option I've found so far. I tried to use Ubuntu One and their terrible tech support made it ultimately impossible for me to even get past creating an account. Since its in the beta stage I had to wait a couple days foran invite, but it was well worth the wait! If you don't know what it is - you upload your music library and are able to access it from any computer. I also just tried accessing the site from my iPhone 4 and was able to view AND stream music using Safari. Since there isn't an App for iPhone, only Android, I am very pleased about this ^.^I've been looking for a way to stream my library to my iPhone since I bought it. If you want an invite, I'd be willing to give one out to someone willing to try/use it. *edit* Forgot to mention they give you free music based on what genres you like! --- class EOSERV { Programmer | Oldbie Open source EO Client: https://github.com/ethanmoffat/EndlessClient };

| ![]() Blah Blah Blah Cloud Blah. Why would you want this when: A. Most mobile devices have limited data plans that would be rapidly eaten up by streaming music. B. If you have a device capable of accessing WiFi networks instead of 3G, then chances are it's also capable of storing your music. C. You upload your music library, with media files and when upload speeds aren't the quickest as-is, you're waiting for a long time. Not a dig at the OP. As a matter of fact I commend this thread for keeping up to date on a topic that actually means something worth reading. I'm skeptical of anything cloud based though, if only for the fact it seems like an unnecessary use of data just to save yourself a couple of seconds on the sync cable. If you have wireless device syncing, it doesn't seem worth it at all. If I had to use a Cloud Music service, i'd use Apple iTunes Match, but only because it doesn't involve uploading your entire music library (it instead matches it to music already stored on Apple's servers for the iTunes Music Store). This however costs $24.99 a year, so if you can't spare the extra $2 a month, it's not for you. Anyway, looks interesting. --- EOSERV.net Academy Of Trolls, Satirists & Sarcastics 5.5 Years Former Site Administrator / Moderation Team / Member (Retired)

There is something horribly wrong with that, considering that iPhones are just an iPod with more capabilities, why in the hell would you EVER stream music rather than just play it from the device?! iPhones have bad batteries as is, and a limited data plan on top of that, why waste that dataplan and use wifi/3g constantly to stream your ownnn music, killing battery life, rather than just put it on the device and be done?! --- Eat shit, bro. | ![]() I think you both have underestimated how much I hate iTunes. The only reason I used it was so I could jailbreak my phone. I had no issues with it when I last had to use it on a Windows machine, but I did notice a few issues that aren't present in the Mac version that could use some fine tuning. --- EOSERV.net Academy Of Trolls, Satirists & Sarcastics 5.5 Years Former Site Administrator / Moderation Team / Member (Retired)

| ![]() Yeah every time I've tried to use iTunes on my computer it ends up freezing and I have to force kill the process (well maybe not every time but its a majority). --- class EOSERV { Programmer | Oldbie Open source EO Client: https://github.com/ethanmoffat/EndlessClient }; |
