| ![]() It's not about how many posts you have. In this case, it depends on your join date and activity. I do miss the old times when not everything was done in EOSERV so you had lots to choose from to code. Hell, I miss the really old times when NPC/Warps didn't work and you had to code it in to get
it. --- http://www.addipop.com

| ![]() That didn't last but a couple of weeks from the time EOSERV had database functionality. But talk about fun times... hard coded PK's :P

| ![]() This is just what EOHax was like as it started its downward spiral toward the internet's wrecking yard, and we all know how that turned out. We had some good times here, but it was apparent that they couldn't last forever. An online community based from the very beginning on a platform that wasn't sustainable? The resources that are used to operate this place would be of better use if they were repurposed to another task, something we could get on board with that has more positive long term prospects. --- EOSERV.net Academy Of Trolls, Satirists & Sarcastics 5.5 Years Former Site Administrator / Moderation Team / Member (Retired)

| ![]() Lel maybe if one of the clones actually get to the stages where they can be used as a platform to construct your own version of EO if you will, I think these forums could get a bit more lively :B --- If money doesn't grow on trees, then why do banks have branches?

Just because someone helps it doesn't mean they have to have the best attitude. I like how all you small minded people consider someone a troll even if they have the slightest hint of being mean. Grow up.. Not everyone kisses ass on a daily basis. And THIS is what happened. People got too sensitive, and everyone had to play "nice" 24/7, which just isn't suitable for the people that are active here. I mean sure there's plenty of cool people here right now, but some of the most active coders haven't been the nicest of people, infact there has been 1 or 2 people that are really helpful but weren't intending on being friendly-friendly-bum chums with whom they helped. You idiots are far too sensitive. I can't stress enough how many times I've tried to express this through sarcasm. --- Web developer, currently looking for graphic artists / designers.

| ![]() The interest and prospects in EOSERV are absolutely very different from EOHax. In the grand scheme of things though, it simply doesn't stand a chance. It's still a niche market, a very limited potential userbase, and the majority of people wanting to contribute to a serious project would rathersee their hard work in a successful production environment. It's something this place can't provide (no project ever to be linked with the Sausage Network has) and it will always be somewhat of a hobby to its participants, but only while the interest lasts. As soon as the interest goes, so willEOSERV. It's part of the reason that I never followed through with any of the ideas I pitched to EOSERV. The reach and impact of the work would never have been that great compared to starting something completely new with a broader audience. I've always wished great things for the Sausage Network and everything within it, every victory for it is a victory for us, but the list of shelved projects continues to grow, among others EOHax, FFAdR, Project Green, A Noon Talk and to a lesser extent FORUM... it's hard not to think EOSERV will eventually join that list. --- EOSERV.net Academy Of Trolls, Satirists & Sarcastics 5.5 Years Former Site Administrator / Moderation Team / Member (Retired)

| ![]() It's not all bad... touching back on the OPs post, the old times are gone and nearly forgotten, but there's always going to be new times to replace them. The end of EOHax was signified with the launch of EOSERV, and hopefully when EOSERV wraps up (whenever that may be), something else will onceagain step up to the plate to replace it. All I hope is that whatever replaces it has a much further reach, the potential to grow without being hindered by a shrinking installed base and free from the issues that plagued EOSERV, particularly the need for server wars which did nothing for our image(and actually drove a few valued members and servers into the ground). This is one of those topics that depends entirely on perspective. Some will see EOSERV as just getting started while others will consider it finished up because whatever they did is no longer relevant in the modern stage of the project. As for me, I forfeited my rights to any control or input to the direction of EOSERV long ago. --- EOSERV.net Academy Of Trolls, Satirists & Sarcastics 5.5 Years Former Site Administrator / Moderation Team / Member (Retired)
