Post #82715 Maps and NPCs are glitching
I made my server and everything, got the maps and NPCs from main endless, but when I open up the server, some spots on the map are black, while some spots on the map are regular. And, if the map is working, then there are no NPCs. I'm new to this, so idk what to do. D:

what rev do you use? If you want a server nearest on Eo main i suggest to use Apollo's Vodka.

You must be sure your server side got maps and pub files and/or check if any gfxs are corrupted.

I believe is something wrong with your gfx. Did you edited them somehow? If yes try with a clean copy of gfx and check if you still got same problem.

Edit: Sorry now i saw you talk about seose, again my advice is to try Vodka. There is no future on seose but again your gfxs might causing the problem.

more likely your pub files, there's likely an NPC on the map that isn't in it

Post #82737 Re: Maps and NPCs are glitching

First of all, idk what gfx do, but when i first made the server it was working fine and i had players and everything, then i editted one of the NPCs with Renas PubEdit, and everything went downhill from there. But, i can put gfx in my files, but can someone explain what gfx does?

Edit: Like, i made my first server, with 9 classes and everything, then i deleted Seose and every file I had for my old server, then made a new one. And when I opened Seose, it said I still had 9 classes and everything I had for my old server went on my new server that made it not work, even though I went back and got new maps and pub and stuff and no matter how many times i delete my server and make a new one and get different files, i still have the one from my old server. And yes, I changed my no-ip and everything about it.

from what i have seen in the past, i have seen the same thing happen with a object/floor tile/wall or something , your pub file or map is calling for a gfx, that you do not have! or, its a eof item, or even a bad bitmap in your gfx file. caused from editing. the gfx files hold all the pictures for the game and the pub files call on id numbers from them gfx files for the right picture, if one of your pub file id numbers are wronge, or the map calls for a object/wall/floor tile or something you dont have, it will sometimes black out spots in the map, make npc's inv, or make you blink whial walking, next time you log in and this happens hit f12 once and see if you poof!

if you have orig pub files in the server folder and orig gfx files in the client and are running orig main maps in the server folder there should be no glitches.

go into your player file and delet all your items just in case you spawned a none existing item then it can cause it too. so delet all your items and see if that fixes it!
