| ![]() I'm a fan of chromium based browsers (#1). One thing that really surprised me recently was IE9. Granted I'll still never use IE (just because it's still IE) unless the website I need is only designed for use with IE, but Microsoft did a decent job with it. I did a few different benchmarks using FF, IE, and Chrome and Chrome won hands down; surprisingly enough though FF lost. IE9 actually outperformed FF. It doesn't look so ugly anymore either! --- class EOSERV { Programmer | Oldbie Open source EO Client: https://github.com/ethanmoffat/EndlessClient };

| ![]() I'd have to say Google Chrome is just awesome compared to the other browsers I've used in the past. I always said that I would never use it but I was at a friends house and had nothing but that. I obviously had no choice but to use it so it turned out to be crazy fast and helpful with not having to visit Google all the time :P --- I am an alien and not crazy!

The rendering engines are both WebKit, the Javascript engines are somewhat different (Google V8 vs. Apple Nitro) but their execution capabilities and times are almost exactly the same. My vote? Apple Safari. The speed is about the same as Chrome and faster in many cases, and the UIs are similar, although Safari has the traditional "tabs below the address bar" which I prefer. Plus Safari's text anti-aliasing is near perfect, pixels are indistinguishable without losing
critical detail.

| ![]() It's hard to choose between Google Chrome and FireFox 4.0. I like Chrome a lot for its built in Dev-tools to edit HTML/JScript and other things. Although I prefer Firefox for its look, and numerous add-ons that make it function identical to Chrome. So FireFox it is.
