I am a Christian and I have read the Bible front to back and I know that most the time it contradicts itself but who are you to say what or what is not real? You are just as bad as people forcing new things onto people.

Alot of this is misinterpretation. Do I think the worlds is going to end? No. Do I think Hollisters a dumbass? Yes. If he had reasoning behind all these blatant insults at peoples faith then maybe i would listen. The bible is a book compiled of a lot of other books. Most of these stories were around at least 300 years before the bible was written.

Like I said earlier interpretation is key factor here. The aztec calandar simply ends in 2012, some people think it was a sign that the world is going to end others think they just didnt finish the calandar.

Same thing with the bible. People are interpreting an interpreted version of the bible. It to be translated first. The greeks alone had 7+ words for love. The bible is under constant study becuase of all the different meanings words can have.

Before you start acting like a dumbass maybe you should remember not to post spoonfed bullshit.

I think it is people to believe what they believe and let them believe it unless its like saying a giant 2 legged eyeball is crapping there toilet then slap them and say '' what the hell have you been smoking, toilet paper with crap and weed slapped together?''

The only people who can say God exist are claiming to be God themselves. Which means they would know everything about everything, and be above everything that ever happened. All powerful, knowledgeable above all else. So it kind of bothers me when people blatantly state "There is no God". No statement could be farther from the truth. So yes, I believe Atheism is a stubborn and ignorant belief to have (Agnosticism is totally different).

Another thing that bothers me is people who think along the lines of "I'm not getting everything I want from God! He's ignoring me! He doesn't love me!". No. False. God hears everything you say and think, and sees everything you do. He is all knowing. Just because he doesn't respond the way you want him to doesn't mean he's ignoring you, it means he knows enough to not grant your every whim. He isn't a genie. He's God. You were created to serve and honor Him, not the other way around. If you aren't getting what you want, there's a pretty good reason for that. Not all prayers are answered. So many times I've wondered why things have worked out poorly for me, and realized the brilliance of God in putting me through them to teach me something more valuable than I could ever learn somewhere else (scumbag school system....)

A third topic, on the reliability of the Bible. I believe as a book it is more reliable than any other story ever written in history. It is an ultimate source of truth. The reason for this is the fact that it is 66 books, by 40 different authors, written over thousands of years (compiled together in the fourth century). And beyond minor inconsistencies, it says the same general message. Especially considering predictions about the life of Jesus in the Old Testament. Don't get me wrong, people can misinterpret it and translations may be slightly off. But the way in which God gets his message across is spectacular. No other book is like it.

Finally, @ontopic. No one knows when the world will end. The verse has already been quoted (Matthew something:something). People trying to predict the date have it all wrong, and I really feel sorry for them, because they have such a strong belief that they are right and are doing the right thing.

In case you haven't realized, I'm a strong believer in Jesus. I do an awful job as a proclaimer of that in my day to day life.  But, I've chosen to dedicate my life to following Him, and I learn more about what that really means every day. I'd be happy to answer any of your questions if you'd like to discuss this further, but I can't promise I'll know the answer. Hope this gives you something to significantly spend some time thinking about!

Cyclone Yasi in Australia

Japanese Tsunami

Super Moon (supposedly caused stronger tides)

Should lock this topic, Everyone has a right to their opinions. However for you to say on a public forum, that god is not real and then proceed to mock and make fun of people who believe in him is extremly fucked up. I myself believe in God and am extremely offended. Since people normally disagree on this topic, I am not going to get too worked up about what you said. Again, its your opinion just you could really have easily kept it to your self that you don't believe in God, but for you to mock people of this is extremely childish and disrespectful.
