Alright this is going to be an incredibly stupid question but I need an answer. Why and how do people have like, two monitors like this:

Is it two computers or 2 monitors? What does this do? How can I do it?

really youve never heard of having a second monitor i do that with my laptop all the time for work. On a desktop computer you have to buy another videocard to be able to do that its just an extension of yourcurrent monitor so you have a wider screen for all you windows. yes its just one computer.

Two is becoming more common place. You pretty much plug in your second monitor to an open video port (which sometimes requires a second graphics card) and set windows to extend your desktop to that display. Windows generally does that for you once your extra monitor is detected.

My motherboard has onboard VGA/HDMI ports so I wouldn't need a graphics card for dual monitors. However, onboard graphics tend to suck, so I have a graphics card with VGI/DVI/HDMI ports so I could have as many as 5 monitors if I felt like it. And most people with gaming pcs invest in two graphics cards, and use Crossfire/SLI between them.

That's so that the graphics card power in combined giving your system more graphics power :)

My father has this, along with his 6 other PC's. He's a programmer. I'm jealous though. :*(

We have this at school, I'm doing media and design when ur working with Adobe Flash or After Effects you'd like to have Illustrator or premiere open on the other screen so you can easily import and export with having everything viewed.
