Servers only lag if the people running them don't know what they're doing. I host a server with over 100 players daily and we almost never lag.

So you're saying that ALL servers are newbs? Because i tested like 100 different servers and all of them had big lagg. Nor is it fun to play. you'd better just go back to single player mode.

Hey hollow. Did you know that lag is bigger or smaller depending on where you live?

Well, I know dozen servers which DOES NOT lag. It's all about the host location, host computer (RAM, Processor & connection). ALSO it's all about the engine you are running and those plugins.

+1 That's right. But my country doesnt have any lagg so don't worry about that =P and i got fast internet.

I like Roblox , though its kind of kidish. There are tons of players. You can create games using tons of different objects and Roblox.Lua scripting language (Kinda an extension of Lua). There are tons of models created by the players that you can insert into your place or youcanusetheobjectbrowser and set a default bricks,GUI's, and etc. Recent Feature : Data Persistance. The graphics uses ogre and is kinda based off of legos. It gives you alot of freedom though.

Roblox is scrub in comparison.

And servers don't lag much at all with a good host. My friends buddy in his dorm runs a server that a few of us play on. Its not too big considering its whitelist and only word of mouth through friends, but theres no lag really at all.

I had a server of my own, and then a Clanforge server for Minecraft. Both ran just as smooth as can be for everyone, almost 100% lag free. Most servers are very laggy though, because people don't know what they're doing. I've played Minecraft for around 8 months now, I love it. I find that single player gets very boring very fast though. Kind of like building a sand castle on a beach alone. 'Yay I built a pretty castle... And that was pointless.'

Lol miksu your sun looks like kirby xD. I also had very cool texture packs. But i lost them when i updated to 1.5 Im going 2 download new ones soon.

My computer can't handle the Minecraft graphics..

@annanannas: Minecraft isn't really that demanding. You probably need more RAM.

My server's IP is svr2.lolwut.net, but it's offline right now cuz I'm too lazy to update to 1.5.

And actually, you would be surprised to see how resource intensive Minecraft really is.
