Xbox 360 has a stronger format than Play Station 3. Also Xbox 360 has a stronger fire wall due to the money they get from people buying "Live!" cards.

Well personally i think ps3 is better because:

one it doesnt overheat easily
two it can handle more like for some reason u'd drop it on the floor XD
three online is free

Sorry but can I say I'd prefer PC?

1. Easy to upgrade
2. Cheaper to repair
3. Games can be brought fairly cheap
4. If you're headset breaks you can buy one around £10 (Sorry but I'm from the UK so expect GBP)
5. You can make you're own content for certain games like nice new map packs. I love making maps for CS:S.

My personal list of pros and cons for xbox360 and ps3:

Xbox360 - Pros

• Better global server operation.
• More secure, not as easy to hack.
• Better social interfaces and ease of use.
• Cheaper hardware.
• More updates.
• Better endorsement.
• Shooting games.
• Sports games (kinect).
• Better value deals that contain more of what you're looking for. Such as headgear, different size HDD's, Blu-Ray players and such.
• Better overall GUI and usability. Can easily choose music from your PC to play in game. Choose your own BG music - epic.
• Better offline play and user function.

Xbox360 - Cons

• Less RPG's.
• Less platform games.
• Slightly less power.
• Less sensitive buttons.
• ROD.
• Not pretty.
• Requires updates to play older Xbox games.
• Lacks built in wireless transmitter.

PS3 - Pros

• Internet browser.
• Better interest from third party game manufactures.
• Better RPG's.
• Better platform games.
  
• Slightly higher potential graphics engine.
• Better old platform compatibility, can play PS1 or PS2 games (also a CON, see PS3 - Cons)
• Looks like a high-tech microwave oven (also cooks like one). In other words, it looks 'hot'.
• Better control pad button sensitivity.
• Better wireless facility.

PS3 - Cons

• Lacks decent deals/packages. The packages lack in what the user may need, such as compatible headgear.
• Different versions ability to play older platform PS1 and PS2 games. It's hard to tell which ones you'll be able to play. I've heard some PS3's won't play either.
• Lacks decent social interface and social communities.
• Insecure servers, insecure hardware. These things can break or be hacked easily.
• Overheating in earlier versions was immense, it actually affected the loading speed of GUI interfaces and shutdowns etc.
• Lacks in game interfaces and usability such as personal music / not compatible with all games.
• Expensive.

These lists were made from my own opinion and I've owned both consoles more than once each. I loved both consoles for different reasons and they are listed above. They are both equally good for a number of differentreasons, it mostly depends on what the user likes but for crying out loud, PS3 is too expensive.

@Desmond - Again have to say it's way more comfortable (couch xD) and locally sociable to own a console. Plus, it's MUCH cheaper to buy a new console than a PC that's good enough to run games ($440 vs $912, including tax). Note that those prices are for an expensive version of the 360 and a relatively low-end PC when it comes to gaming. Those are my pros for consoles against PCs.

@Perfect - 2 whole hours? I left my xbox on for at least 26 hours (finishing the endless setlist in Rock Band) and it was fine. Well, maybe a little tired from the all-nighter it just pulled...but it's still going strong 2 years later :D

I guess it's all a matter of opinion, but I still have to say I'll always be a console gamer at heart.

Well if we didn't have to purchase live on Xbox, Xbox would be about as bad as Play station 3.

Xbox has my vote.

Xbox has the halo series, which I love, and also GoW.

I only heard that Uncharted was good for the PS3 only. With the new slim, I havn't heard about a case for the RROD, and I also played on the PS3 Call of Duty: Black Ops and I prefer it on the xbox, for some reason, it seems to have better graphics than PS3 but that's just me.

The updating old games, is a good features I think..
