I need critique and requests on this. Im prolly going to think about making my own operating system eventually, for now im just making some stuff in VB to preview some stuff.

Update : Timer for drag is faster, no more slinging the form around, its much more clean.

Its a Application. You know how the form is around IE and other stuff. How it has like the minimize , exit, and other stuff? Its a remake of one of thoose. I made it cause i might make my own operating system in the future.

Edit : Oh, yeah the source is, its a little messed up though at one part. Just the connection, it might not be the source though. Might be my portforwards : / Heres the link to it. No file transfering yet, just the client and server connected ip's til i get the client server to work -.-

Just going to put this out there: "I'm going to make my own operating system" It takes a little more than coding your own basic form outsidings to make your own operating system :L! But it's a good start. Going to be honest here.. VB? Honestly? xD If I were you, I'd look into visual C# if you're more of a drag and drop kind of programmer, get used to the syntax then move into manual C# Coding :]

I know that its gonna take alot more then this :P honestly i like VB though xD  I'm just making out all theese forms though. Im prolly gonna make a first version of a operating system in a year from LFS (Linux From Scratch) but i need to get into alot of coding first. Iamjustdoingthis VB stuff to get the basic form looks of how i want it and prolly most of the formulas for size and etc. I could possibly use some of theese in the operating system also. VB is very useful and functional, i think. A very simple language also.

You also need to know about how a kernal works. Are you planning on making a kernal or using an open source Linux Distro?

Trust me, Tried and failed. It takes a lot of knowledge to make your own OS.

As the person said above. VB? I'm sure you need advanced C++ or as they said C# to do this.
