| ![]() Are you trying to say because you changed a color, you've removed the copyright? You're wrong, Copyright is removed when, people can look at it and say it DOESN'T look EO related. Those myths of changing 10% or what ever and it removing the copyright is wrong If you take that photo and put it on your website, you're highly risking copyright.
|
| ![]() Just cause it's EO related doesnt mean it has their copyright. EoServ is EO related and doesnt have their copyright. It does though, have to follow their copyright rules. And it is not a myth. People who make fake jordans shoes give them a buttcrack in the logo to avoid copyright. Thus, meaning this was only changed a litte. So start search. They have copyright on their images, not a image that may look alot like theirs edited by someone else. Im also not trying to remove the copyright, just avoiding infringement. Say you made someone's logo blue, They dont own that just because you changed theirs. It's still owned by the person who changed it to blue. All they could do is get mad at you for changing it to blue. --- Andrewbob - I would be on the fucking copter of rofls Programmer, Web Developer, and Graphics Designer

Entities can issue cease and desists and have you for trademark or copyright infringement even if it's somewhat obvious that your work has been derived from theirs without permission. Changing a colour, or adding/removing something from their work is not enough to avoid an infringement
suit. As long as the original creator of the work can prove that their work has been copied without their permission, it can hold up in a court of law.
Any case where someone has gotten away with it in the past is not as a result of legal grounds, it's a result of the original creator not caring enough to put it through court, or simply not noticing.
EOSERV gets around potential trademark and copyright infringement issues by using only some of their colour scheme. The software is not distributed with maps or graphics, the site refrains from using Endless Online logos and graphics and the small logo in the top right of the page is different
enough and blends in enough to not be an issue.
