There's still some talk going around. Messages I receive. Shit like that. Nothing to be concerned about, but some things that are worth clarifying so we get them out of the way once and for all. 

First of all, one thing I seem to be getting asked a bit. I need to reiterate that I won't be coming back on as administrator or moderator of EOSERV. I would consider taking the moderator position back if offered or required, but there has been no indication from higher up that this is the case and I have no intention or need to put the motion forward. At this stage nobody has been named a viable successor to take on the position that I vacated and from what I understand the position is no longer required. I am still involved with the team that runs this place, but behind the scenes only.

Secondly, official EOSERV Skype Meets seem to be closed indefinitely. As much as some backed up the idea and wanted it to become a recurring event, I was the only team member actively pushing for them and therefore unless another team member wants to take on the task, these will no longer be occurring. Users can of course communicate via Skype still, I myself am still on there and active but I haven't taken calls as of late due to the majority of my Skype conversations taking place during work hours.

Finally, I have taken my contact details off my profile. Apologies for any inconvenience this has caused but unless I want my inbox inundated, I don't have a choice in the matter. Any questions you may have should be posted here so we can settle them.

But in truth, I never had a problem with the way you moderated, if anything your the only moderator on here thats actually tried to keep peace with everyone and make the least biased actions. (for the most even the whole Klutz incident, if he's going to be making personal attacks towards a moderator. Then the consequences are his own fault.)

I can see why you would have left though, this place can be pretty ridiculous. I only really look around the art section, which is even a waste. Most of the people here either post things they know are not good, and if it is, chances are its stolen.

Sucks to see you not a moderator anymore.

I don't care about mods leaving as, the forums community along with EO are going anyway.. Until sausage just decides to remove the site.

Tho if people keep donating, then of course he'd keep EOSERV up, hes making double even triple the amount to keep EOSERV up... (if he paid monthy) It's like what 10$ if that a month

But in my opinion you shouldn't abandon the administrator/moderator job because of some retards we have in this community.

Everyone knows Endless Online has a lot retards running around, and you do know that too.

Then again it's ur choice but some people appreciate what you did for these forums, like me.

If there's a retard with the IQ of the amount of fingers he has on each hand just punish him harder, that's what I would do.

Anyway, as I said, It's ur choice and I would appreciate if you'd think it through again and don't let those people get on ur nerves or whatever they hit and be cold to them.

I have found myself somewhat bored after leaving. Still have yet to find anything to fill the position it left.

The Klutz incident... I think this needs to be discussed. I would often try to be a decent moderator. I wouldn't down-vote every single post that had the potential to cross a boundary. I didn't shut down threads that could maybe under certain circumstances be construed as advertising. On the other hand I was a very strict member of staff when required. I closed threads that were blatant spam, or excessive duplicates. I banned users that would actively condone the attacking of private servers, the attacking of members or users that could be considered a risk to other member security. 

As far as EOSERV goes though, there wasn't much I could do. I'm a hardware engineer by trade, I don't code. I don't have all the time or cash in the world to be throwing at servers. I actively pushed new ideas to the community for consideration, wrote out guides and tips as to how to promote your server, how to improve it, what key areas server admins should focus on and generally ways they may see success. I gave away the information and advice that I myself simply couldn't use due to financial and time constraints.

Some people hated that fact. I was considered a know-it-all, an elitist because of my long winded posts. Nobody could be bothered reading them despite the potential usefulness of their contents. People criticised the fact I had these ideas but never put them into action myself, ignoring the fact that there may be a reason for it. Some people hated my moderation style. I have at least once or twice received DDoS threats because of users i've had to ban or threads i've had to remove. There was no acknowledgement for the good, only criticism for the bad. Klutz in particular was quite vocal about this. It wouldn't have been the first time I was under scrutiny for such matters.

Leading up to the incident i'd been writing up and proposing a number of potential new projects and improvements to introduce to EOSERV forums. All of which were subject to scrutiny. The final of which was the concept of Trusted Server Metrics, which was handed off to Desmond when it became apparent we wouldn't be able to add it to the SLN. Our ideas diverged though and I placed a halt on the Server Metrics idea until further notice. This pushed some over the edge and it became apparent that no matter what idea I had, no matter what move I made or the reasons behind them, it would never be good enough for some individuals.

I knew I was going to step down as administrator at that stage. I didn't step down because of the Klutz incident. The Klutz incident was a result of my stepping down. On the way out, I gave a kick to who I personally had simply had enough of, one of the most vocal critics on here who had felt the need to go on the offensive following the termination of the Trusted Server Metrics program. I didn't appreciate such comments and as a result, I still don't regret that move.

Wow hate to hear you leave, Even though I don't visit the forums that often anymore, But when I do, Its nice to see people thats not a retard. It sucks that you left, but honestly, you can't ever expect to please everyone with anything you do. Most of the times people will still complain or what ever and some of the times they do it on purpose to annoy you.

I don't know anything about coding either, but I try to be useful here some how. Usually it would be answering questions about the programs lol.

Well, the kind of work we do here at EOSERV doesn't really align with my interests anymore. Not much of a gamer, not much of a server operator. Priorities have shifted to ensuring I make the most of this year offline, with online activities taking second (exception being chat, no harm in social interaction). Not ruling out a potential return should I be asked, but I simply don't know what my position here would be or what my purpose would be in the event that I return.
