I tried to open a gfx file with the resource hack...First of all I know how to use the resource hack, but I found a patch for EO and I tried to see what they added to it with the resource hack. Only problem is the resource said this..."This file has a non-stardard resource layout...it has probablybeen compressed with an "Exe compressor"." when I tried to open it to see what they put in there. Can someone tell me how I can get around this to see what they edited?

That is how private servers protect thier gfx from being stolen.

I'm not sure how to get around it though :/

Thats stupid because I can just change the IP on it to redirect it to my server, and still steal the stuff the old and long way using screen shots.

-BTW its the blackwater park patch/server 4 beta- Which I think isn't being used anymore.

Oh yeah, Blackwater was awesome back in the day.

Try google, it might tell you a way to open it.

I tried googling...So far I've used resource hack and resource tuner...so far no luck opening the egf files...

I believe you mistook me. I wasn't trying to steal anything. I just wanted to edit the items they already had, but how they were compress caught my eye. Now I wish to do the same thing to my gfx files, but since I didn't know how, I thought I'd ask how to get around the blackwater park's. I'm not trying to be a "badass." I just wanted to look farther into compressing and decompressing.

They're not even worth stealing, and compressing gfx isn't worth it either. Your players will complain consistently about their CPU maxing out. I believe people should just share with eoserv.. you get more respect doing that (not in my case). XD

If it's the case that you want to decompress people's gfx, then sure keep trying on bwp v4.0 and if you manage to crack that then you should have an easy time cracking anyone elses.

About that. The first two .egf files come up in the reshack, so couldn't you had done that and post that link? hmm :3 Another thing I'm sure I can decompress the other files if I had the time to go in and find what compresser they used, use it to decompress it...but that's work.

Posting the actual files is prohibited as far as I know, and you can't decompress them without the original PE.back'ups. It is probably possible to extract or reverse engineer them, but because it is a cracked version of a newer PECompact, you will have a hard time finding an official way to do it.
If it is something else within the gfx files that you want, your best bet is to give up. Because I don't have the original uncompressed graphics anymore.
