Re: Now were in trouble.
When it comes down to it it's about wanting to be involved with the community. If you want to be involved you'll generally play a server or create one, or associate here. I know what you mean, it seems like a pointless waste of time. Unfortunatley you won't know until you try. As forhosting, you
could just host it yourself.

Re: Now were in trouble.
Wouldn't be hosting it myself here in Australia. 8mbps connection via DSL, but the quotas (150GB metered in both directions, so usually a 75/75 split) wouldn't allow for my home internet usage and a server to coexist. Then I need to factor in electricity costs of running a system 24/7/365. All
adds up.
Also, interesting to say that if one wants to be part of the community, they'll "play a server, make one or generally associate here". Doesn't seem like I do any of that these days.

Re: Now were in trouble.
I was 16 when I started my server. I am now 19, and really no longer see any point in it. I made many friends over the time I had it online, and I also made many enemies (why, I'm still not sure). In the end, it was quite an adventure. I jumped into something I had no clue how to do, and came
out knowing a bit more about C++ and database management. It was a good learning experience. But it was never meant to succeed. EO itself was never finished, and EOSERV can never come close to being finished because of that.

I do the same thing. Back when we all got along and there was no competition and back when Vult-r warned everyone this would happen in the end.

Re: Now were in trouble.
how does that turn out? People plan to make no overpowered items = 100000 damage hits? Very smart.
A server i want to see is a server that actually relies on your class. Damage, Protection, Ranged, Non- Ranged, Magic, Etc. Whatever class you pick determines everything you will be wearing. This would make a great server. It should also be challenging.

Other things come first, initially. But something like that will come in due time. We were working on it, but then we got sidetracked from having to work on replacing pre-existing armors/weapons/items, and now with the new client being in development. We simply figure it would be
easier to work on classes and other areas of the game after we have a fully open window to begin the process.
As for "omg i hitz 10000," well, I agree. But at the same time there are other games that keep damage in the high thousands. It's just a multiple of 10's. It's not like the monsters have 100 HP and you're hitting 20,000 on them instead. There is balance, but it's hard
to see it. Generally everyone's views are still focused on EO's original average attack of 15~45.
