Why is it against the rules to ask for help to make a server. That's the only way you can make a server great. If its a one mans idea then its only up to him and then it goes no were. I might be being an ass about it and im sorry. But from the way I see it there are a bunch of great ideas out there and we need to be able to exploit them. If there is another way to get a team together besides posting please let e know so i wont have this problem.

What do you mean you can't ask for help? If you submit your questions they will usually be answered at some point, as long as your not annoying the hell out of people, or asking stupid questions. If you really need help, post your problems and I will try to help you out. If I cannot help you I'm sure someone else will. As for making a *new team*, good luck with that. The majority of private server players are on this forum because it's a nice (usually) helpful forum with most of the more intelligent endless online players.

I think i phrased it wrong.... Why is it against the rules to ask for people to help pixel, code, and map your server.

If you want coders, mappers, pixelers, then why not make your own website, own server, and then people will ask if they can be hired, and you can hire who is right for the job. This is not a forum for hiring people:p

  I'm pretty sure the reason "Asking people to work for you" is against rules is due to one of the rules being "Advertising".  Id think asking for people to work for you would be considered as an advertisement.

  What i would do would be to make a small website, like a webs.com website.  Then in your config.ini, or seose.xini add the URL.  Most servers have a website, and usually they have a "Apply For Job" on a forum, or simply a form.

I still don't know why that rule exists. Advertising your server and spamming its URLs? Sure. Advertising the need for assistance on (gasp) a forum full of people who actually make content for this just seems natural. It's a grey area I suppose.

Like I said, there's server advertising and then there's job advertising. One involves posting a server name and IP, one doesn't. We could theoretically (emphasis on theoretically) police one type and not the other, or have a job board. The downside is that it will probably be abused.

Well since it's promotional, a good idea for fairness would be to allow each account IP to have 1 open job which they will have to change when they need another. Moderators could easily keep an eye on people creating new accounts for this, because there aren't really many servers so if you find a servers IP in 2 different job adverts, well you can take it from there lol because I would probably ban them.
