I'm splitting up my reply into multiple parts.
(1) Administrative and Moderation staff are tasked with keeping the forums running with a degree of excellence that's parallel to what its userbase expects. In the case of EOSERV we have a lot of new members with a lot of questions to be asked, and staff as such take a very light handed
approach to the day to day moderation. It's a fine balance, if we do too little, the community suffers. If we do too much, we apply too much pressure to the users and the community disbands or activity slows. In the case of EOSERV we could probably do a little bit more or a bit difference in some
areas, but at the moment no such plans have been made to do so. Users that are in clear violation of any rules or common courtesy practices are dealt with as necessary.
(2) Questions asked on a recurring basis will never be resolved by searching. Nobody seems to understand this. The search function is there, but these forums serve a purpose as well and everyone posting a stupid shit reply like "use search" is in turn making the search function absolutely
useless. Imagine searching for a topic and the only replies in that thread are "use the search function". Fucking useless.
(3) Personally, I only ever visit the Lounge. Seems pointless, I know, but I have never been involved with EOSERV, Seose, EOSEP, Kalandra or any other third party projects and as such can't actively contribute to their threads (nor can I immediately remove posts since it is difficult
in some instances to pick legitimate advice from the bullshit).
(4) I'm already seeing marked deleted threads very often as-is. If we start pulling any more we wouldn't have much left around here.
(5) I promise that I did read this thread in its entirety before replying, but didn't make a whole lot of sense of it. Maybe i've become accustomed to the fairly standard thread quality that EOHax was and EOSERV is currently known for.
