I've been trying to make a dark themed server which has been failing miserably. I'm just wondering what people actually prefer. Please post what you'd rather see in a server. Thanks.

hmm dark theme, im picturing npcs, gfx,  costumes centered around death, fear, suicide, anger, pathos, etc... nice dark outfits, eery maps, scary npcs, emo this emo that.  I like dramatic palettes like blacks and reds and idk heavy metal yeahh

Why do they have to be seperated? there's a whole slew of dark animes out there that pull off the imagry wonderfully! Devil May Cry, Deathnote, Elfen Lied, Hellsing, Project Index(kudos if you get the reference), There's so many to choose from! So fuse the two together!

Lol I guess I'll rephrase. Dark and morbid or Happy and Raindows and Lolipops and stuff like regular eo.

Something easy on the eyes, I personally wouldn't like to see rainbow colors everywhere and bright hue's as well as random anime copies that are just slapped together without thought.

Dark would be good as long as it is not too over done but simple-ish.  I've seen plenty of dark themed ones but half the time things clash and look absolutely horrid.  Such as chat window being so dark it is hard to read the text, or red dots smothered by random black dots, or just pure randomness that make no sense.  I'm sure people have seen a few eye killing ones that are somewhat like that.

All in all, go for the dark-ish in my opinion - something simple but fantastically done and easy on the eyes.

Yeah, I went with that at first. RevenantEO. But lack of players and lack of help, lack of server working with the features I wanted. So I'ma go MUD styled possibly with it instead. Either that or whip out a can of EOBurn like old days. Idk  though Elevations might take that idea and put it into his patch/server again. :( Anyway. Dungeons anyone? I'd need a quest maker that knows and loves Diablo like their hand in bed.

Off Topic: That is the single best comparison concerning Diablo i have ever seen. Just want you to know, i lol'd, then sent it to my friends, who lol'd more.

On Topic: My personal project is going to be a somewhat dark elemented overall mix, i'm hoping it will turn out well (You all are welcome to join in and try it out/send in ideas) but the point is no matter what you want to do there will always be someone doing it before you, someone going to copy it off you, and people that will love yours more than someone else's. So, whatever you do decide to do, it's going to be successful if you find the right people.

lol, yeah I if you're any good at quest making I'll be more than happy to trade anyone a basic website like mine for working quests to my needs. Possibly any other work I might need for my server would be highly appreciated. :D

I love the avatar/character sprite in the pic. It's nicely detailed. Just how I'd like to have the ones on my server. Wish I knew anything about choosing staff and helpers. ;P
