Google Chrome is the fastest browser on Windows for JavaScript speed. For rendering speed it's on parity with Apple Safari. The WebKit engine that they both share also renders pages extremely well.

Mozilla Firefox is overhyped shite in my book. It's not the fastest and it doesn't have the best font handling, which are probably two of the key fundamentals of any web browsing experience. It prides itself on being open source, extensible and secure, the first is nothing to be proud ofconsidering most other browsers are also open source, the second of which has no effect to the end user at all other than to bloat the browser with unnecessary extensions and the third is misleading since I doubt it's any more secure than any of the other major browsers.

Rant over.

There was something to be said about Opera as well but I ran out of will to type. Pretty sure Sausage is the go-to guy when it comes to the Opera browser.

I've been a fan of Opera for over a year and the first thing that caught me was because it was sleek looking, quick, speed dial, and tabbed. The simplicity of having no bothersome add-ons, matched with the speed and look, was a winner to me.
The latest release Opera 11 has now added Opera extensions (add-ons). The Mac OS Font rendering extension and HTML 5.0 outliner are the only worthy add-ons and Opera's so called 'fastest javascript rendering' is now falling behind, but I still prefer it for general browsing. I tend to use Firefox or IE for bulky sites.
