Who said anything about eoserv.net dying? Sure Scott and Ananas left, and a couple other people that contributed really nothing, but there is plenty left to do: map editor, pub editor, eoserv, eoclient, finished webcp. If that doesn't work then scrap it all and we will just start EO 2.

If we're looking to take on additional staff here, i'd be more than glad to have my old administrative job back...
We've discussed this at length already in the IRC channel and the general consensus seems to be that the best way to go about this project now is to aim for what would essentially be "EO 2" as Apollo has stated. That doesn't mean we should scrap our existing server code and maps, for all we know
at this early stage a lot of it may still be usable, but basically if we're planning to develop a server, client and all the associated tools to make the game, we may as well just go the whole nine yards and make a complete game from the ground up.

These were my thoughts, but sort of differently. My idea was if I'm going to get a team together to build a new client, we should make it a totally different game. If we're going to put the effort into building it, I didn't want to copy something (like Vult did when making EO based off Dark Ages),
I wanted to build something completely new. And it's coming along rather nicely.

Well then, I want to discuss it a little more first, but I think we should form a dedicated discussion forum or information group towards making a new game, don't you think? Perhaps another forum should be added to the EOSERV forum index?
As I said multiple times already as well, I would be more than willing to also assist in this project. I can't code, however I have experience in management, moderation, economics and communities (all the key elements to making a healthy game) which could come in use, along with some experience
designing layouts and maps on small and large scales which could be handy. Depending on whether it's possible i'd also like to port the game client to other platforms when it's done. Don't expect anything in return, just want to see this succeed.

Don't need another forum, that's just postponing when there's nothing wrong with discussing it on the current forums anyway.
I'm willing to help if anyone wants it, don't email with "DO THIS" though. I don't expect anything in return either, just don't be rude because I'm kinda sensitive :S

Re: why is every one leaving
Meaning administrator-ship for what? On this forum? That would be a moderator, and hell no. I would never want that.

May have misunderstood what I meant by "another forum". I mean when you go to https://eoserv.net/forum and look at the listed forums there, as in Client Editing, EOSERV, Lounge, SEOSE, etc... that there should be another forum added below it entirely for discussion and development of this game. I
think this will be required eventually anyway, if anything to figure out who is doing what task, keep up to date with the work of individual teams (graphics team, composers, architects, client and server developers, etc) otherwise we'll find the lounge cluttered with development and progress
posts.
I also need to clarify that I never at any given point stated that anyone would be getting the easy way into an administrator job. I reapplied only because i've been an administrator here before and subsequently took leave earlier this year when I started working for AppleCare. Now that the
circumstances are a little better, i'm just throwing my name into the ring again.
Administrators by nature are these glamourised figures of authority, in reality we spend probably about 10% of our time in the game or project we've overseen, with the remaining 90% devoted to keeping systems, software and servers running, managing development resources and handling the
tedious tasks that nobody else would want to do but has to be done if we want to succeed. The fewer administrators we have running around the place, the better the game will be, for the same reason Endless only had 6 admins maximum for hundreds of players. The more "hands off" we are, the more
enjoyable the game will be for everyone else.
If anything, it'll be the composers, artists, developers, designers and world architects that have all the fun, doing what you do best and getting credited for it, without all the tedious work on the side.
