Forum :: Client Editing :: Eomap error (with linux)..

Um i get the error with wine saying it's encountered a serious problem etc. All the gfx is in the right place blahblah. But it might be the wine software itself or idk, but does anyone out there that uses linux know how to fix this problem?

(if anyone didn't read the title, i use linux debian)

Could be that Linux doesn't recognize DLL files since EOMap uses one as an execution association (depending on which EOMap your using).

Wine isn't capable (to my knowledge) of emulating windows capability of reading DLL files like an executable. (run32.dll as an example)

Programs that use DLL files work just fine in Wine. I'm pretty Office 2007 uses them and it works fine.

My guess is there is something in EOMap that isn't yet supported by wine. You might try visiting their IRC channel.

I already tried that. And i still get the error.

i might just do that. Since there doesn't seem like theres any other options to it

also idk if this will have anything to do with it, but if i try running endlessonline.exe (not the server) on linux it just comes out as a big white screen and is impossible to close and or do anything with (resulting in having to do a complete restart of the system)

Ive had this problem before with linux, it has something to do with Microsoft C++ redis have you tried installing that with wine?

No i haven't but after i just tried then to install the latest (2010) it gave me the error aswell. So im assuming the problem with everything is wine itself. (Everything meaning eomap / running installing Microsoft C++ redis)

aye wine can be a pain in the ass pardon my french, sorry I cant help you there, its been awhile since I tweaked with linux, your best bet is checking linux forums to see how to get C++ redis to run with wine.
