i got xp too on my pc and i got exaclty the same error. and i tried put that dll on same folder with map editor, still dont work.
I dont want to be mean with deathx. Actually i want to congrats him cause he doing great job trying to make a better map editor with npc, chest and all these features on one editor. And he spend so much time trying to fix all these errors. Too bad is not working for me. I ll stick on the old editor untill he fix it. I am just trying to help you all find the problem telling you i am using xp too. So something must be with xp...

Not saying its the cause at all, but one day i was reading around on random stuff and saw that some installations of .NET framework don't work between XP-Vista/7.

Either way, i'd help you guys test these errors but i don't have a comp with XP on it and i'm not going to Dual-boot my current one.


Keep trying to find your solutions and good luck with future releases.

Problem solved, merely a mix up of the allegro dll's. The fix can be found at the bottom of the first post for those of you who don't feel like redownloading. Updated R5's download so it already has the correct ones now. Also additional things I've done is cleared out the unneeded includes, situated a few others, did away with using windowsx.h and replaced like ComboBox_SetCurSel with the SendMessage way. It may be little shit but hopefully it'll make some sort of difference :P. The additional things can only be updated by redownloading r5 and replacing the exe but the changes shouldn't really make much of a difference.

I replaced the files and everything but... It will close right when I open it. I open, it makes a ding sound, and it closes. If your wondering I do have all my gfx files and pub files in folders and the 4 .dlls that I replaced there. I need help.

Ok, with those .dll's you released death.. the map editor now opens but its giving graphical errors.. an example is shown in the link/picture below

Does the same thing happen when using sausage's eomap 0.2.7? If so im pretty sure its a graphics driver issue otherwise hm im not quite sure right now if i could make it happen on a pc of my own i could work at getting it fixed :x how i did with the mixed up dll's problem.

actually yeh it does, but im thinking its just a problem with the work computers, the graphics work fine on my home comp.. so i'll change the dll's when i get home. :)

This looks like a gfx card error, try changing your display to 32-bit :)

well i redownload r5 and it works better than perfect. i didnt change anything. i didnt add any dll. i just extract the r5 and all features work, without having memory problems like before. for history: none of previous rev worked for me. i had memory problems and editor couldnt start. but it fixed now. again thanks to deathx for his hard work.

Care to list your computer OS and specifications for Wind to read? Include your graphics card, ram, processor, .NET frameworks and display settings :)

I can't even open it. There's an error associated with _except_handler4_common in msvcrt.dll.

There appears to be some glitchy eof's when spawning more than one item in a chest. Note to people that didn't know, you can 'stack' chest items by clicking the chest tile again, although you have to provide a new slot each time (0-3).

Using : new pubs, only 14 items and all work fine when spawned into inventory, but the chest often spawns them as eof's.. varying each time a new item is spawned. Sometimes one graphic appears eof then later it will appear fine and a different graphic will instead appear eof. I figure since I made brand new pubs with only a few items this would be a bug :)
