Post #39834 Guide to Setting up Seose & Portforwarding

I know alot of these guids have been posted before, but i decided to post another for newcomers who look at the first page and automatically think Z0MG NO HELP TOPICS TIEM TEW P0ST without adheering to the Search feature first.

{ Required Files }

To set up a working Seose server you will Require:

Seose 2R7b: Download
WinRAR (Optional, it makes it easier to extract files however): Download
PUB & Map files: These can be Handmade or taken from your Endless-Online directory.

{ Downloading, Extracting and Setting up Seose }

1) Download Seose v2 Release 7b (0.2.7b) from the link provided

2) Once downloaded create a folder on your desktop and call it whatever you wish (ie: Seose, My Server, YourServerNameHere)

3) Extract the files from the Seose folder to this new folder on your desktop using WinRAR, or you can manually unZIP them yourself.

4) Before you can Start Seose.exe and run your server you need to do numerous things.

5) First of all, Read Seose.txt, once you agree with it, open Seose.xini (.xini files can be opened in Notepad) and find the section that says "Terms Agreed = False" Change that False to True

6) Now you can further edit your Seose.xini until you're happy with your selected settings.

{ Pubs and Map files }

1) Before you can run Seose.exe you need to add Pub and map files

2) These files can either be handmade or obtained from your Endless-Online Directory (Default: C:\Program Files\Endless-Online\Pubs // Maps\ unless you specified otherwise when installing the client)

3) Add the PUB files to the Data folder and create a new folder called "Maps" to add your maps to.

4) You should now be able to run Seose.exe without any problems.

{ Creating a Character and editing its details }
1) Go to your Endless-Online client configuration and change the IP/Host to connect to 127.0.0.1 on port 8078 (Unless specified differently in Seose.xini ie: the use of a bind 0.0.0.0:8080)

2) Open the client, Create an account, Log in and create a character.

3) Log out again after the character has been made and return to your Seose folder.

4) You should be able to find your character in \Users\Characters\

5) Open up your character file using notepad and find "Admin = 0", Change it to "Admin = 4" and you set to go, here you can also make other changes such as Hairstyle, Hair Colour, Strenght, EXP, level, Guild (Rank Name & Tag) and other statistics relating to your character.

6) Log back on the client and your changes should have taken effect (Note: Any player whos stats are being edited should be logged out when you click the "Save" or "Save As" button after making changes to the file)

{ Admin Commands and Features }
1) Admin Commands are listed in the Seose.xini file, there are some hidden commands such as +fourfivesix [Message] (Makes all NPCs on the current map say your message) and +toasted (Makes everybody drunk and scream incoherant messages such as "HAPPY HOUR" and so on)

2) A Set level is required to use each Admin command: 1 = Light Guide, 2 = Guardian, 3 = Game Master, 4 = High Game Master, The level of adminship required to use certain commands can be found in Seose.xini and can be edited if you wish

{ Portforwarding }
1) Portforwarding seose refers to allowing port 8078 or whichever port your server operates on through your router and firewall. This is done to allow others to connect to your server using your IP or DNS Host.

2) Start off by finding how to connect to your Routers webpage. Start by trying: Start -> Run -> cmd.exe. When in cmd, type: ipconfig /all and look for your "Default Gateway", it should look something like this: 193.245.1.1.

3) Open your internet browser and type that number into your Address bar. If it is correct and it is your default gateway it should bring you to your routers homepage to request a password authorization.

4) Your router username and password should've been given to you upon buying the router, default is User: Admin Pass:123 or 1234. If you are unsure of your username and password contact the user manual or check the back of your router to see if you can find any details.

5) Once on your routers homepage try and find your NAT page, this is where you will add your exception for port 8078.

{ Adding port 8078 }
1) Once on your NAT page, add a new application.

2) Application settings should be something like this: Application: endless.exe || Protocol: TCP || Port Start: 8078 || Port End: 8078 || Destination IP: Enter your IPv4/6 Address here || Destination Port Start: 8078 || Destination port finish: 80780 || (Your IPv4 or IPv6 address can be found in CMD by typing in ipconfig /all and looking for a line like this: IPv4 Address/IPv6 Address: 192.167.5.4. Note that the the IP will be custom for you, 192.167.5.4 is just an example of the format.)

3) Save and Enable the application and you're done here.

{ Windows Firewall Settings }
1) Open up windows firewall
2) Add an exception
3) Add Seose.exe on Port 8078 and Endless.exe on port 8078 (Endless and Seose both use the protocol TCP if you are required to enter it)

{ NO-IP.com (Only Required if you do not wish to use your IP) }
1) Go to http://NO-IP.com/ create an account and confirm your email address
2) Create a free host/redirect (Ie: YourServer.no-ip.org) and download the DUC (Dynamic Update Client)
3) Install and open the DUC and make sure your host is up-to-date.

{ Seose.xini }
1) Return to seose.xini and find the following section:

  [game]
  {
    Name = ""    /* The name of your server */ <- Enter Your Server Name inbetween the ""
    URL  = ""        /* The website for your server */ <- Enter the URL of your server in between the "" (Include http://)
    Host = ""                         /* The domain name of your server (leave blank if none) */ <- Enter the host you created using NO-IP.com between the ""
    Port = 0                      /* The external port of your server (0=auto) */ <-  This should stay as 0 or 8078

2) Save seose.xini and run your server, if everything was done correctly you should get an SLN Update and your server is online for everyone to play!

Note: The { Portforwarding } section was based off the settings and steps i used to portforward, it should be similar for other routers, but if it isnt working out for you head to http://portforward.com/ for additional details on your router and how to allow port through it

I hope this helped in any way possible. I would appreciate it if you could tell me if i have left anything out, as i was tired when typing this so i may have left one or two things out. All pointers would be appreciated, Thanks.
