Hey my friend was hosting my server and when we found out his modem didn't need to be port-forwarded, we tried getting a No-ip working. But i tried to help him through the adding ur static ip in your internet protocol but it didnt work so i was guessing that you need to make the static ip in his router. I know this kinda switched topics but its related...

For some reason i cant connect to the server that my friends hosting, it was working at first by using his ip address, but now its not. I told him how to and he said his ip didnt change so it should work but still wont let me or anyone else on, and again he didnt need to port-forward so its not a port issue. 

Anyone know how to solve this? also if anyone know if u make ur static ip in the modem? His modem is a Motorola, Surfboard sb5101.

Sorry if im not talking clearly, or if im like not finishing sentences. Its late and im tired and i got school tomorrow so a little annoyed atm.

If he has a modem then he doesn't need a router but the no ip should work. Just create a host and when asked for the ip put his there,.
