Edit: Not meaning to spam, but I found another way of doing it, and will post it as soon as possible, much too tired to post the guide atm.

Mining is working though!

No offense, you don't really "deserve credit" for this... You didn't actually make anything resource wise so therefore, I fail to recognize how your idea deserves credit. You don't see Microsoft giving credit to Apple for ideas, vice versa.

Also, will the fishing work? Because I'm not sure if you make a sectional block (Like blocked from the right side only etc.) will allow you to attack through it..

I thought of this months ago.


Btw, it fails if you want to add this 'fishing npc' to every water tile. Same for trees 'hunting' which was my idea.

Funnily enough I was talking to a few guys on our server about this not 2 days ago? You wouldn't by any chance be one of them?

EDIT: Npc's can only be attacked when they're on walkable tiles (no specs). This would mean making trees and water tiles passable.


EDIT": And btw, you don't need to make an area 'All ontop tiles' to make an npc not visible. All you have to do is set the gfx to 0, or another ID that doesn't exist.

Umm no, that wasn't me lol. (Not even sure what server you were on, but no)

Also, you were falsely informed, npcs can be attacked while on blocked tiles, and items can be dropped in them aswell.

I've got mining to work now, had to make some minor to changes to the original plan (I'll update the guide.)

Only one problem with the mining though, I'm almost positive the npc can move forward after attacked, which is unwanted..(I'm thinking about changing the npc types to some of the unknowns to see if they can be attacked, and not attack back, or move.)

Fishing on the other hand is going to be a little more difficult, and yeah I thought of the gfx-0 thing after I wrote the guide and smacked myself on the forehead.

Also... isn't their a sectional wall block? (Like You can walk into left,right,and down, but not up?) I just got the map editor like 3 hours ago, and I'm still trying to get used to it.

Anyways, It's 2am, I'm tired, so I'll update the guide and work on it in the morning.

When you place the npc spawn, set the range to 7 and it wont move or attack. Forget doing what newbs do and placing tile/npc blocks everywhere to try and stop them from moving. lmao.


There's no such thing as a 'sectional wall block'.

Make a better explanation of what you mean by a 'sectional' block, and explain why you need it, I could probably think of a better alternative.

A directional block would be more of a descriptive name.(Once again, I typed most of all that up around 4-6am)

I'll try to explain

Blocked->[Open Area]<-Blocked

So pretty much, a monster can move through the tile through three different sides, but not go through the fourth side.

This would be used for fishing, so you could still hit the fish and not be able to walk into the water, and the fish wouldn't be able to leave the water.

I apoligize if this isn't very descriptive..

She probarbly wouldn't know cause she uses my script.
The script is based on which tile you stand.
Also ( mine ) is if the player has an ancient sword ( fishing pole ).
The player can fish, not without it.
You could fix the direction if you would put it in the attack like;

- this->player->character->Attack(DIRECTION_LEFT);

Or something.

Does anyone know exactly how to do the old twin blade effect. Like 5 versions back or something twin blades did really high amounts of damage on rock monsters, but did regular damage on other monsters. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the elemental values.


This could be used for mining.
