Some people simply go onto EO main and visit local maps there to begin filling there supply of maps. While this does infringe on an intellectual property, this is a method of obtaining the original maps.
Feel free to use a small set of maps I made ages ago for Seose testing. I forfeit all rights to these maps and welcome them into public domain for private server use. There are 13 maps in all here:

I remember reading if you have the client for over 4 months or so, all the maps go into the maps folder. I dont believe this though.

Yes, you need winrar or another archiving tool with support for .rar.

I suggest downloading 7-zip instead of winrar. It's free and no trials.
