Post #46185 No Response From Server

Hello all,

My Seose server is up and running, I have just one problem. When I connect with the client, and try to either create an account or login, the connections to the server goes from 0 to 1, then 2, then 3, and the client will then say that it cannot find the server.

My client will only work properly if I connect using localhost, but this won't allow public use? If I'm right ...

The last problem is character creation, whenever I go to create a character, I click create, edit the character or leave it as default, enter a name click "Create" and Seose "crashes", with the Microsoft error reporting service.

What is wrong?? I'll upload my entire folder in .rar format to sort this out ...

Thanks

Airo

But I've not actually edited the client, therefore it's not client editing. It's to do with Seose, and why Seose isn't allowing the creation of a character, which if I'm correct (and I am) is server-side. Server and client are different as such it can not physically be placed in that section.

If I'm right (and I know I am), that is a server-side process, as the client can not create the character files. So therefore it can not be placed in Client Editing, as this is to do with Seose.

It's server sided... And the common cause of all seose problems is that you have no maps and/or pub files so make sure you mave the relevent data in ..\Maps and ..\Data

I've copied the data and maps folders from EO to SEOSE but it still did the same thing. So I copied the enitre EO folder and it still did, xD. Probably a stupid idea, but was a just in case moment.

Have you set "terms agreed = true" in seose.xini ?

Yeah, I've read and agreed to the terms. TermsAgreed=True in the .xini file, otherwise it wouldn't get to SLN check-in :)

Oh wait sorry i've just re-read your post, you can connect using localhost so it'd be a problem with your port forwarding check that it's still setup to you ipv4 <preferred> address go on the command prompt and type ipconfig /all to find your ipv4 address and use that as your local ip address for port forwarding.

I use a BTHomeHub2, and so it portforwards using MAC Adresses rather than IP Address. I have ipconfig /all 'd and it is definitely using my MAC, I've yet to try another computer connecting to it though, but surely I should be able to connect to it using my no-ip. The server's host variable is set up to use my no-ip.org host ...

when you open the server does it say SLN 200 UPDATE OKAY or something along those lines?

Yeah I got it, client was hosting from localhost so of course the no-ip won't work. Probably because using localhost means it blocks incoming connections? Not sure, but I've got it working ^.^
